U.S. RELEASES VIDEOTAPE OF OSAMA BIN LADEN **Full Text**

The U. S. government released today a copy of a videotape of Osama bin Laden obtained by U.S. forces in Jalalabad, Afghanistan in late November.
The video was filmed by unknown persons.
"There was no doubt of bin Laden's responsibility for the September 11 attacks before the tape was discovered," said Secretary of Defense Donald H. Rumsfeld.
The release of the tape was made after balancing the concerns about any additional pain that could be caused by its release against the value of having the world fully appreciate what we are up against in the war against terrorism.
The tape was released with an English translation and English subtitling, prepared independently by George Michael, translator, Diplomatic Language Services; and Dr. Kassem M. Wahba, Arabic language program coordinator, School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University. They collaborated on their translation and compared it with translations done by the U.S. government for consistency. There were no inconsistencies in the translations.
The English translation is on the Web at http://www.defenselink.mil/news/Dec2001/d20011213ubl.pdf

There've been people on this thread blaming Clinton for the terror attack and saying that no one but W can deal with it properly. Which other thread?
To: Paradox
... shouldn't have said 'blaming' him ... just what a mess we'd be in if he were handling the war.

There was a subtitle that read: "In revenge for the children of Al Aqsa', Usama Bin Ladin executes an operation against America." Source please.

To: cybertoolzz
I don't have a link, but I'd think it'll be about the only thing on any of the TV channels at least until the next crisis (or until the next country is scheduled for daisy cutters), depending on whichever occurs first).
To: GretchenEE
re the info at #9, you are my Hero of the Week. =)I get grumpy around the Christmas season. Enough is enough. Glad some agree.

Some of them said that in Holland, at one of the centers, the number of people who accepted Islam during the days that followed the operations were more than the people who accepted Islam in the last eleven years. I heard someone on Islamic radio who owns a school in America say: "We don't have time to keep up with the demands of those who are asking about Islamic books to learn about Islam." This event made people think (about true Islam) which benefited Islam greatly. Can even these psychopaths be THAT deluded? Has anyone met a single person anywhere who has a more favorable view of Islam after Sept. 11? Any person who isn't locked in a latex room playing with his boogers, that is.

From the video:
"(...Inaudible...) we calculated in advance the number of casualties from the enemy, who would be killed based on the position of the tower. We calculated that the floors that would be hit would be three or four floors. I was the most optimistic of them all. (...Inaudible...) due to my experience in this field, I was thinking that the fire from the gas in the plane would melt the iron structure of the building and collapse the area where the plane hit and all the floors above it only. This is all that we had hoped for."
All I can say is I hope they shove a daisy cutter up his ass.

You're right that OBL apparently did not admit that the muscle hijackers were unaware that the mission was a suicide mission. But he did at least admit they were not told the whole truth about the mission. And, while he did say they knew their mission was a suicide mission, he may not have been telling the truth in saying this.

This event made people think (about true Islam) which benefited Islam greatly. "Hadn't heard that, but find it totally amusing. If true, it proves but one thing: reverse psychology works! Islam is already the fastest growing religion in the world, so even the thought that people might want to check the source of Islam for their information has got to have a lot of people freaking out. LOL, for a true irony.
Your application of "reverse psychology" and "irony" are both wrong...as are your views of the world. If you are trying to show us how smart you are, how you have insight into what's 'really happening' that we don't you are failing miserably. The best adage for you so far is...'by their own words, they will be exposed.'

Sulayman (( Abu Guaith)): I was sitting with the Shaykh in a room, then I left to go to another room where there was a TV set. The TV broadcasted the big event. The scene was showing an Egyptian family sitting in their living room, they exploded with joy. Do you know when there is a soccer game and your team wins, it was the same expression of joy. There was a subtitle that read: "In revenge for the children of Al Aqsa', Usama Bin Ladin executes an operation against America." So I went back to the Shaykh (meaning UBL) who was sitting in a room with 50 to 60 people. I tried to tell him about what I saw, but he made gesture with his hands, meaning: "I know, I know
"
Apparently Sulayman neglected to give either the station number or the country he was in. He seems to have been in Afghanistan at the time, given the location of bin Laden. Perhaps they had satellite access.

Forgive me; I am humbled; I leave.
(Sorry for the delay)
Oh, no, no, no! You absolutely proved your point! I've gotten so used to real whacko's spouting off nonsense that they actually believe, that I didn't even read the rest of your posts! (I should have figured something was up when I found myself in total agreemen with sinkspur....kidding!)
Actually, I kind of embarrased I didn't recognized you name, you're an old timer. Regardless, your commentary on your reply is dead-on accurate. It IS a mental illness, like an addiction; it feeds upon itself and grow stronger as the addict seeks and ties together additional delusions. Any event that happens that is even remotely out of the ordinary has to be the workings of (fill in your favorite cabal).
The moral of the story is to read ALL the posts before you reply, and to be on the alert for parody, and satire.

Taliesan's a good guy.
He took leave of his senses when the tape came out, but he's still a good guy.
There is a time and a place for everything.
Posting a spoof seemingly favorable to bin Laden this morning was neither the time, nor was FR the place.
Unless one is a masochist.
To: Ada Coddington
Ada, still think there is no evidence that Bin Ladin was responsible? Still think the hijackers financed the WTC attacks from their allowances? Still think we aren't justified in attacking anyone who harbors this guy? Still think this was all about pipelines?
I posted this first about 12 hours ago. Surely you've had time to compose a reply.
To: Howlin
Can't help but agree with the analysis. But from the looks of the first 300+ posts here, the release produced the desired end.
