TEN RULES OF A GUNFIGHT
1. Bring a gun. Preferably, bring at least two.
2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice.
3. Only hits count.
4. If your shooting stance is good you 're probably not moving fast enough or using cover correctly.
5. Keep shooting until the threat no longer exists; then stay sharp until somebody with a badge tells you to freeze.
6. If you can choose what to bring to a gun fight, bring a long gun and a friend.
7. In ten years nobody will remember the details of calibre, stance, or tactics. They will only remember who lived.
8. If you are not shooting you should be reloading or running.
9. Accuracy is relative: most combat shooting standards will be more dependant on "pucker factor" than the inherent accuracy of the gun.
10. Someday someone may kill you with your own gun, but they should have to beat you to death with it because it is empty

I re-read your post. I just realized that you mis-understood mine. Read it again.
I didn't say he was willing to let him escape.

I've seen one of those little Spyderco knives go right through the titanium trauma plate in a Kevlar vest. Man! It went through titanium! Can you get any titanium trauma plate that a knife won't go through?
Some .45 automatic 230 grain federal hydroshocks will take care of almost any guy.

I
have used a gun to defend myself and others... have you?
It ain't so funny when you have to do it.

I didn't say he was willing to let him escape. Yes, I got that, but it was a way of saying "and this guy wasn't trying to rob your friend or tresspass in any way".

The Tueller drill has established that somebody who's motivated can cover 21 feet in one and a half seconds and stick a knife in you! How many people can draw from a holster and hit a K zone in one and a half seconds? Fewer than think they can...

As close as I am to Thunder Ranch, I don't think I'm going to make it. My son and I are looking for a good shotgun class so who knows. My son thought he was going to TacPro this weekend for a 3 gun match but I signed us up for a Garand seminar. I don't need it but I convinced some of my friends that it would be fun so four of us are going. Practice, practice, practice.

Pucker factor? Sorry, I haven`t heard that one.

"If you carry a gun, people will call you paranoid. Thats ridiculous. If I have a gun, what in the hell do I have to be paranoid about?" LOL

11. Stand-off is a good thing.

I have a similar target at home (human silouette). The holes are from a .357 magnum. Another of my personal favorites. Of course, a 9mm will do in a pinch...

GUN SAFETY FOR LIBERALS
1. Do not put the barrel of your gun in your mouth. I want to do it!
