The D.C. Chapter of Free Republic will forever admire the courageous stand taken by Linda Tripp to tell the truth during the dark days of the investigation leading up to the impeachment of President Clinton. This was done at great personal sacrifice.
It is with great sadness and concern that we learned recently that, while others have profited handsomely from their criminal acts during the Clinton era, Linda Tripp has been nearly bankrupted and is facing foreclosure on her home. She was fired from her government job by Bill Clinton on the last day of his term. Her attempts to find another position in her field at the George C. Marshall Center in Germany were sabotaged by a leak to the press.
Since then, according to press reports, Linda has not been able to find work commensurate with her experience. We believe that this is because she is considered radioactive as a result of her reputation for telling the truth and not going along with the business-as-usual practices of those who do work with the Federal Government.
According to press reports, actions leading to foreclosure on Linda's home in Columbia, Maryland, have commenced. She had been renting the home out while staying with friends but it has recently been without tenants.
Members of the D.C. Chapter are stepping forward to help Linda in her time of need. We want her to have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. If you would like to share the D.C. Chapter's efforts as we give a hand up to a FRiend, here's how you can do so:
Send a check or money order payable to Linda Tripp. Please send it c/o David K. Colapinto, Esq., Kohn, Kohn & Colapinto, P.C., 3233 P Street, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20007. Mr. Colapinto will see that whatever funds are received will go directly to Linda Tripp and not to a defense fund.
Disclaimer: This is a voluntary effort organized by the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic. The posting of this notice is with the consent of Free Republic, LLC. However, none of the donations for Linda will be handled by or through Free Republic, LLC, or the D.C. Chapter of Free Republic. Therefore, neither Free Republic, LLC, nor the D.C. Chapter have any responsibility for the accounting or disposition of the donations.
This effort by the D.C. Chapter is solely our idea. Linda Tripp did not ask for these donations, nor did anyone else. We are doing this because we care.

Do you have any idea of the tens of thousands of dollars Linda had to shell out to defend herself from the bogus charge of taping a phone conversation?????? She is a single mom, and had 2 kids in college at the time!!!! My word, with a house payment, car payment and the thousands out to the lawyers, and college just what do you think she was living on???????? I have 2 kids in college now, I can tell you they aren't going to be the only ones eatting mac and cheese! My son's tuition is $17,169 for ONE year!! We are just making ends meet, yet they tell us we don't qualify for help, so we have to borrow what we didn't have saved. And I have a daughter going to teacher's college, not cheep!! I know what she is going through and you should be ASHAMED!!!!

Tripp sucked off the poor all her life. I have ZERO sympathy for her. Let her pal Lucianne who made a name for herself pay her bills. I am not about to give her a cent.

While I send a check to Jim on the morrow I see no reason not to write another one. I really can't think of a better way of celebrating Christmas.

If working for the government means sucking off the poor, then I guess you put President Bush in that catagory too? He does work for the goverment, ya know. Sounds like sour grapes to me that Linda had a good job. I admit I'd love to get a job like that, but that's just not going to happen. Good for her that she did, don't trash her for what she did with her life, after all isn't that what we are all after...that great American dream. Don't shoot down those who achieve it just because you haven't.
bump for Linda's needs to be met

If Linda's court woes are all over I think she should write a book. It would be a real eye opener from the start. She has all the inside poop on monicagate, but also on file gate and all the other garbage that happened during Clinton's reign of terror.
Right after the impeachment, Monica had her idiotic book out, and back then the dems felt sorry for her. Now Monica is no longer the victim du jour, and most folks, even those who supported Clinton back then are disgusted with Clinton and at least partially blame him for not getting Bin Ladin. I don't think people view Monica as much of a victim any more (at least not a victim of Linda's however she was a willing victim of Clinton's).
Now is the time that a tell all book by Linda Tripp would be widely accepted and should sell well. I think that Linda would finally be believed and listened to. I know I'd buy a copy for myself and some as gifts. Please pass this on to Linda. I think she has the right to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, and prosper by doing it!

Will send a check, what a nice thing to do DC Freepers! Poor Linda, the only one to tell the truth and look how she is repaid!

God Bless Linda. She is a hero and I have sent her $$ over the last few years and will send her a nice Christmas check. She has suffered so unfairly for doing the RIGHT THING. Why has this happened and why hasn't the Bush Administration given her a job, and a very good one. She is a proven patriot. We need to freep W on this right away.

You have my sympathy for not being able to understand... I hope that people give you more understanding and compassion than yoou seem to be able to show others...kinda like President Bush says...ask a neighbor what can I do to help you out. Linda is a neighbor in need, I don't have much, but I'll help her out as much as I can. Let's hope you never need a helping hand...you've probably bitten them all.
To: Angelwood
Thank you, Angelwood.
Merry Christmas, Linda.

Thank you, Angelwood and Kristinn and the D.C. Chapter. Linda Tripp definitely deserves our support. Had it not been for her courageous stand, the Clintons would've gotten away with a lot more than the silverware. Because of Linda, the history books will now have to say the "Impeached" President Clinton.

I added 'DC Chapter' to the memo line :-)
I will never forget how this classy lady helped me through an embarrassing incident in S.C. concerning my dad gum zipper.
