Sounds like a religious war to me. But what do I know.

Kill 'em -- then dig the bastards up and kill 'em again. The religion of peace? Make that the religion of Rest In Pieces.

I thought Islam was a peaceful religion. Have I been duped? (Sarcasm Alert)

It is a religious war, and unfortunately, it's not a new one. It's been ongoing in Indonesia for a few years that I know of for certain. Two families we know have fled Indonesia, one is now in Canada and the other is in Australia. At one point a couple of years ago, the daughter of one was beaten and raped in one of the riots. Some people were pulled out of their houses and beaten to death, their houses looted and nearly destroyed. Their crime was being Christian.

sectarian violence Interesting wording.

Although Muslim gangs appear to be responsible for the latest outbreak of fighting, Christian militias have also killed hundreds of Muslims and forced thousands of others to flee their homes. <
no bias here folks. Muslim gangs "appear to be responsible" and Christians "have killed"

Didn't President Megawati Sukarnoputri decline to join President Bush's anti-terror coalition? This is where appeasement gets you.
I wish reporters and world leaders would get with the program: these people aren't a "militia".
These people are TERRORISTS.

The Islamic propagandists will be joining this thread shortly to justify violence and murder done in the name of Allah.

Indonesia-- Lobbying hard to be next on the anti-terrorist hit list.

Although Muslim gangs appear to be responsible for the latest outbreak of fighting, Christian militias have also killed hundreds of Muslims and forced thousands of others to flee their homes. In the bloodiest attack so far, about 100 Muslim villagers were massacred in May last year. I'm not sure this article is the best vehicle for another orgy of Muslim bashing. Just a thought.

He said some of the attackers were members of a Muslim militia, Laskar Jihad, which is responsible for much of the religious fighting in the nearby Maluku islands. About 9,000 people have been killed in that conflict in the past three years. They're not just a "militia," they're a TERRORIST group! And if Indonesia doesn't force these people to fall in line...
