Well, there IS hope... tonight in my Ethnography of Communication class, we had to split into two teams to debate the usefulness of feminist ethnography. No one wanted to be on the affirmative team. (-:
Come visit us at Freepathon Holidays are Here Again: Let's Really Light Our Tree This Year - Thread 5
and be a part of something that is larger than all of us.
Alone, we are a voice crying in the wilderness. Together we are a force for positive action!
Don't be left out!
Be one who can someday say..................... "I was there when..................."
Thank you to everyone who has already come by and become a part!
What in the H is that???? What are they teaching? How to communicate ethnicwriting... or is that 'graphy' defined as 'plotting'?
Remember however that if they include a return postage envelope, do them the favor of returning their envelope packed with a note telling why we are not supporting them. We wouldn't want them to think we are rude for not replying especially since they are paying for our response.
[This works with any retunr postage guarenteed junk mail you may happen to get]

It'll save on jet fuel, too, but, hopefully, not ordnance.

I'm not entirely sure myself. (-: But it's a type of anthropology, ultimately, wherein one goes usually to a foreign culture, hangs out there for a year or two, and comes back describing their ways of speech and what cultural values are revealed by such ways. One article was all about how the Western Apache make fun of white Americans. Another was on the "dugri" speech of Sabras (Israelis). Another was on the grafitti and signals of inner-city gangs. Another was on when Germans use the familiar "you" vs the formal "you." Stuff like that.
My sorry ass doesn't need saving, thank you anyway...LOL. Although, you certainly sound like yours might, are you perhaps a disgruntled former employee???
How? Canada or Mexico?
