With Bill Clinton back on the political stage, why should the American people be denied their choice of chief executive? Why should a 22nd amendment passed by Republicans to get even with Franklin Roosevelt stop 21st century Americans from having the president we want?

We can rid the Constitution of this petty little provision. I thought Clinton burned the whole thing.

this saggital-ridged, knuckle-dragging, mouth-breathing troglodyte
You definitely have a way with words.

Ah, a sequel!!!

OK, so I'm reading this thing thinking there is going to be a big twist or punchline at the end, where we will discover that Matthews was just exercising his sarcasm muscles.
There was no punchline.
This is the most horrible thing to ponder I think I have ever seen in print.
(How could he possibly believe that Bill Clinton loves America on any level? Bill Clinton loves himself, and he loves being treated like royalty. That's about it, as far as I can tell.)

This article has just set a record for the number of emotions I've felt after reading an editorial.
Astonishment, pitty and anger are but a few of them.
What this muttin-head seems to forget is that the OKC bombing was likely the work in part of middle-eastern terrorists. Had the superlative "by Matthews' seeming estimation" Bill Clinton and his justice department done their job, the WTC may never have happened.
So what's Matthews' hope for a Clinton figure at such a time? Would he approve of Clinton making a few token cruise missile strikes to cover his own ass for the scandle of the moment like the last times?
Chris, if this isn't a career buster, it has to be damn near it! I've seldom seen an example of a person missing more of the feeling of a nation's people at any given moment.
Bush is winning hands down when it comes to who the people want in there. Between Clinton and himself he's been winning by close to a two to one margin. His popularity is holding steady in excess of 85% frequently above 90.
What possible basis do you have to make the claims you do? If I wasn't reasonable assured that you were who you are, I'd think it would have just been easier to ring up the slut and ask him out. I have just one more word for this tripe.
Pitiful.

Actually the San Francisco Chronicle may be going under soon. They have been losing money for years. They are now owned by the Hearst Corporation. Many, many people are soon to be laid off there. My husband works there. That paper pretends to be so "liberal" but it is run by a bunch of hate mongers. They HATE straight white men.My husband is discriminated against routinely and denied rights that he should have because of his position and nothing is ever done about it. I wish people would write massive amounts of e-mail to them. The Chief Financial Officer is at this very moment jumping ship. I could get that newspaper for free but we refuse to read it. If anyone wants to send letters to them protesting just about everything they write and stand for here's the address: letters@sfchronicle.com. Also go to www.sfgate.com, click on columnists, click on Jon Carroll, go to his column of September 14, 2001. In that column he calls the people who flew those airplanes into the World Trade Center towers "Brave"...and he still has a job there. It's an outrage and a disgrace to what used to be a half way decent newspaper and a beautiful city...a beautiful city which is now an absolute cesspool. I really, really wish that people posting here would just inundatethem with "Letters to the Editor". Give them a major, big time headache.

Let's end the two-term limit on presidents -- quickly. Yeh, let's make it only one term. Want to hear my argument for one-term limit? I can do that in only two words: Bill Clinton
"There are plenty of safeguards against the power of the presidency that would prevent him from becoming a lifetime monarch."
Bill Clinton vs. the words written in the Constitution of the United States (in Clintons and Democrats eyes a bunch of stupid words that aint worth the paper it's printed on)
But no one doubts that this guy loves not just the concept of America, but its nitty-gritty reality. Nobody has ever loved the crowds like this guy. Nobody, not even his worst enemy, can claim that Bill Clinton thinks he's morally or culturally better than we are. This guy is MTV all the way.
That's why he won twice
Brain dead MTV viewers/voters who can't find the United States on a map. It's a miracle in itself that they were literate enough to read a voters ballot.
Not to mention all the Democrat voter fraud....

Why do you think they call it the "Comical" ???

I discontinued my subscription to the SF GAYRonicle in the 1992 elections. It was very obvious that they were nothing but a frontal PR rag for the demonicRats and the really bad Gay Agendas!
Chris Matthews is typical of the left wingers who are in full lust in their opeds. They are in full lust for the Clintoons and other DemonicRat criminals!
What is amazing is how many conservatives think that Matthews is a good moderate conservative and has seen the light. He and the b$tch Dowd are frontline spear throwers for the demonicRats, first, last and 24/7!

Listen carefully. I'm only going to say this one more time.
I did not have sex with that woman, Chris Matthews.

I don't think Hillery would allow Bill to be put back in office. She is all reved up now to put herself in as POTUS. She has waited patiently all these long years and worked and toiled (lied, cheated and stolen) to get Bill to the whitehouse. Now she figures its her turn.
Any of you who have not yet read Barbara Olson's "Hell To Pay" should do so. I thought I had heard all the slimy facts about the Hildebeast, but this book added a million more. I am reading her 2nd book, "Final Days" right now. Bless Barbara's heart... she had the guts to say what everyone else in Washington knows but would not talk about. It gave me chills when I read the paragraph in her book that said, "In the mind of Bill Clinton, political considerations outweighed even life and death matters....... As many of his own cabnet had repeatedly stated terrorism was the nations primary security anxiety. Since the end of the cold war, Soviet aggression had been replaced by a number of particualy venomous threats, from Tim McVeigh to Osama Bin Laden."
As you all know already, ironicallly, Barbara died in the hijacked plane that crashed into the Pentegon on 9-11.

It's not really Kosher to screw around with the 'Published Date'

Nobody, not even his worst enemy, can claim that Bill Clinton thinks he's morally or culturally better than we are.Bill Clinton isn't morally better than we are. Is that now in the job requirement for President, that you're morally worse than the people you lead?

Chris Matthews, "I know I would sure love another term."
To: JeanS
That's why he won twice...
Neither time did Clinton win by a landslide. He never once got a high percentage of the popular vote.

With Bill Clinton back on the political stage, why should the American people be denied their choice of chief executive? Why should a 22nd amendment passed by Republicans to get even with Franklin Roosevelt stop 21st century Americans from having the president we want? Why should a transient majority of socialists with IQ's several orders of magnitude less than an avocado be able to stop me from living in a free (of Bill Klinton) country??? I actually think an intelligence test as a prerequisite to voting would not be an unreasonable step. Flame away.

It's not really Kosher to screw around with the 'Published Date' It was not intentional. I asked the monitors if they can either change the date or pull the article.

Two questions: (1) What happens if somebody posts an article that says something good about the Clintons
without adding a "Barf Alert?" Do people really barf?
(2) Leaving Clinton out of it, shouldn't "We The People have anyone we want to elect as president? It wasn't the founders who wanted to limit the president to two terms. It was tired-of-losing Republicans who wanted to change that. So why can't the Republicans and Democrats and Others of today change it right back?
After all, we're the ones who have to live under the law, so why -- in a democratic republic -- shouldn't we be able to vote for who we want to -- whether he has already served three terms as president or has never held a public office?
