The history of the Marine Corps should be something for all of us to know. I think the best part of the Hymn is that "We are proud to claim our title of United States Marines."
To: Angelique
I agree, Angelique.
With 1100 of our Marines on the ground in Afghanistan, it behooves us to know how they came to be Marines in the first place.
"The Marines have landed, and the situation is well in hand".

Another moving story about Flight 93. I think you'll like it.
I keep thinking I don't have any more tears in me when it comes to 9/11. Then I go and read something like this, and my eyes mist up again. God bless those passengers.
To: Angelique
I agree Angelique so much. You and I will always have a special connection to Marines for many reasons and one big one.....our CHIEF.
Thank you for your friendship and kindness and being my friend.
To: Rainbow Rising
Thank you for that ping and a BUMP for this heart wrenching story........
What HEROES........

Regarding the book on the 23rd Psalm, please check further down on this thread around 190. Sheesh, I missed the earlier post where RonDog gave a link to the book. (Thanks again, RonDog!) I've found a friend who has it, and is loaning it to me tomorrow. Sounds like a keeper!
Thank you for pointing me towards patricia's thread. I got a reply back from Patricia confirming that she received my email, so all is well.

Glad to be of assistance to you. Don't forget to do a search under photos keyword and visit A Day In the Life of President Bush. If you want to catch up with the POTUS or what his staff was up to in pictures, that's a great thread by another dedicated freeper.
The comments that follow the pictures are kind if hero/USA worship but I admit I have posted there before. Basically, chicks discussing what tie Dubya has on or what Laura is wearing.
To: floriduh voter
Well...I like GWB as much as most of the FReepers here, but what he or Laura wear doesn't intrigue me all that much, as long as he keeps on rolling. Just having him keep his zipper up is a pretty refreshing change...LOL. Those Hillary crusty black pantsuit threads are pretty funny, though. :-p. I'll check out the threads you mentioned, and thanks again. See you around the boards.

Gripping. Chilling.
And most beautiful.
May God bless and keep them.
We'll never forget their bravery and spirit in the face of death.
To: AFellowInPhoenix
I apologize for not answering to your post as it was buried somewhere amongst the other posting. Your post caught me by surprise.
"(As a side note, I wish I knew how to manipulate grapics so that I could come up with that one -- also, a dual image of Iwo Jima and those Firefighters who were hauling up Old Glory in New York.)"
Iwo Jima was one of those guys hauling up Old Glory after that 9/11 incident? Really?
Try this site for graphics manipulation. web monkey

This is one to bookmark and read again and again.

I forgot! For the Chief! And to keep our honor clean

The humor section is worth an occasional visit too. FR is my favorite place. I can even get up to date hurricane information here. So many are willing to take the time to post useful information. I just usually wisecrack or write short thought provoking stuff. This really is a community. We're all neighbors here. Later alligator.
To: InvisibleChurch
If only they could know what a grateful nation they have left behind. The bravery of those on flight 93 is something I will never forget. How proud their families must be, although I know they would rather have them at home with them. So would we all.
To: Mudboy Slim
I agree with your comments. 9/11 just awakened what is always lurking under the surface in the American character. We need to use the momentum to keep people awake as to what has been going on with the Leftist agenda for a long time now.
To: InvisibleChurch
Not to seem disrespectful, but every time I read about Lisa Beamer doing another talk show, or addressing another conference, I ask myself who's taking care of those boys. Their daddy didn't really have a choice about going "to be with Jesus." But their mommy has a choice whether she wants to be with them or in front of a TV camera.
Flame away.
To: Harrison Bergeron
I doubt that she locks them in a closet while she is away. They are probably with her on her travels, just not in front of the cameras. The worst is that they are with grandma and grandpa.
To: InvisibleChurch
worth rereading...
