MOSHER: ABORTION ZEALOTS THREATEN AFGHAN WOMEN

By Steve Mosher

Population Research Institute has confirmed that operatives working for the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) are on the ground in Afghanistan,(1) and have been distributing abortion devices and chemicals(2)-disguised in kits marked for safe delivery-in Afghan refugee camps in Pakistan and Iran.(3)

Given the great unmet need for food, shelter, water and basic health supplies-along with strong opposition to abortion throughout the Islamic world-the UNFPA's Afghan refugee operations are gaining little ground against the intended recipients.

Early reports confirm that war-traumatized refugees, approached by UNFPA workers pandering abortion services, wander away quickly. And a few brave refugees-in an attempt to protect their female population and progeny-have confiscated morning-after abortion pills provided by UNFPA.

Still, the UNFPA offers only abortion and "family planning" services to Afghan women and their families. Infant and maternal mortality rates rank among the highest in the world in this refugee setting, yet basic life-saving aid from UNFPA remains in want.

The immediate goal for the UNFPA is to break down cultural resistance to abortion and contraception within the refugee camps. UNFPA's long-term goal is to establish permanent operations in Afghanistan. In conjunction with international abortion providers Marie Stopes and the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), UNFPA plans to spend an estimated total of $20 million for abortion services within Afghanistan over the next few years.

In this way, establishing permanent operations from refugee setting, UNFPA's campaign against Afghan refugees resembles its 1999 campaign aimed at Kosovar refugee women. PRI interviewed several Kosovar women in Pristina who described the "genocidal" function of UNFPA's abortion services as a "White Plague" .

During investigations of UNFPA operations in refugee settings, PRI discovered that abortions were conducted without adequate informed consent.

War trauma and Taliban atrocities now provide the UNFPA with the opportunity to engage in coercive family planning programs in Afghanistan, under the guise of women's health.

In Washington this week, negotiations on the FY 2002 foreign aid bill ground to a halt because of controversies surrounding the UNFPA. The bill, totaling more than $15 billion, contains millions for life saving aid for Afghanistan women and children. Tragically, however, this bill also contains tens of millions for the UNFPA, an organization which promotes coercive abortion and sterilization in China.

I'll deduct points on the basis that Mosher has a specific agenda, which runs counter to the alleged tactics (smuggling in abortion kits) used by the UNFPA.

That said, I have no difficulty in believing that the UNFPA is indeed trying to promote abortions in the camps.

It is amazing and horrific, yet perfectly in character, that "abortion" should be UNFPA's first response to a situation where Infant and maternal mortality rates rank among the highest in the world in this refugee setting, yet basic life-saving aid from UNFPA remains in want.

The Nazi's got nuttin' on these folks.

Not surprising, really. What a great way to win over the hearts and minds of the Afgans. These population control zealots are truly an evil bunch.

Their infants are dying like flies and this group is trying to prevent more from being born?

Sounds like they want to get rid of the Afghans altogether.

Why is it that every time you turn around in this whole WTC atrocity, abortion providers keep trying to look like they really are humanitarians? They are supposedly providing free abortions for people affected by Ground Zero. Then they are trying to abort every Afghani refugee.

Their only answer to death and suffering in more death and suffering.

Question: Does the UNFPA increase of decrease infant and maternal mortality rates by pushing abortion?

Answer: The UNFPA will, of course, increase infant and maternal mortality with its "population control" methods. The "genocidal" function of UNFPA's abortion services [is] a "White Plague" and confirms the muslims worst allegations about our western society.

We will kill 300 times more people in volutary abortions inside the United States in a single year than those killed in the World Trade Center attacks. In stating this fact, I am not defending the terrorist attacks or abortion. It seems that neither society has a firm grip on empathy or respect for innocent human life.

The allied (predominantly U.S.) troops find themselves in a position similar to the Wehrmacht on the Eastern Front. Here they are fighting against an obviously evil regime (be it Stalin or the Taliban) only to be followed up by the Einsatzgruppen of the UNFPA, whose purpose is to methodically destroy innocent civilians. The presence of these people only serves as a justification for Jihad.

I mean, if I were a moderate Moslem confronted by the demonic machinations of the pro-abortion UNFPA, I'd be looking for a Taliban recruiting sergeant myself. There are some in Afganistan who might now be wondering if the cure is worse than the disease.

You have hit the nail on the head, my friend. Abortion fanatics are the biggest bunch of genocide freaks since Hitler. Why else do they park their death mills in the poorest neighborhoods, and pedal their agenda in the poorest countries?

They did them same for the suffering Kosovo women and Latin Americans after their earthquakes.Tell your Congressmen to stop funding this ugly American stuff and spend the money sending them tools and seeds to plant and harvest their own food trees, sanitary systems, drinking water purificators, medicine and building supplies.

If the United States could help rebuild Germany and Japan after World War II, why are we participating in this kind of devastation of our needy brothers and sisters?

Millions of these people died in the Soviet invasion. Millions more slaughtered or driven out of their country by the Taliban. If anything, the UN should be offering babay food, pre-natal care, and basic antibiotics so that the infant mortality rate (around 20%) begins to come down. Or maybe power generators for their hospitals. Or potable water and food for the refugees.

But noooo. Let's make these people truly modern... Let's set up planned parenthood, Kabul.
