Greta had a great interview with our local Realtor, Joe Olla. Hopefully, more of the world will know what it is like to live under the heel of the little dictators in Santa Barbara.

Nevermind.

Californians
love fine tuning by petty tyrants. They
love laws that regulate
everything--and once a regulatory law is passed--
the problem is solved! At Stinson beach there are more "No Dogs Allowed" signs than anything else--except dogs.

Can someone explain why all the most beautiful places in California---Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Sausalito, etc.---are all run by far-out liberals? Is it the student populations?

"Can someone explain why all the most beautiful places in California---Santa Barbara, Santa Cruz, Sausalito, etc.---are all run by far-out liberals?" It's beer.
Give me a few beers and a pretty place to watch a sunset - say from the banks of the Gros Vent River - and I'm just not much of a political activist.
Guess my dirty little secret's out now.

Not all the most beautiful places in California. There's Pebble Beach.
To: pointsal
So why don't the right wingers start hanging out there and take the beautiful places back? Go in groups, and enjoy the sun.

Well, thanks for sharing.
Now what the heck is this post about?
To: Savage Beast
Come on down to the most beautiful city in the Country - San Diego - and you'll find nothing but good conservative citizens - and a bunch of Freepers as well!!!

Good point. Why are the conservatives and "right wingers" less conspiratorial than the lefties? Why don't we smarten up and start taking over the media and universities. Conservative journalism scholarships, places on university boards etc? Producing political brainwashing disguised as "entertainment"?

Santa Barbara, very pretty, very expensive, bad traffic, lots of dumb hippie university students. U.C.S.B.= University of California Surfing Branch. Santa Cruz=more commie hippie scum. Sausalito=burned out hippie scum trust funders, cutsie pie, tourist crap.
Just because my ex-wife is still in SF with my car and my parents money has nothing, I repeat NOTHING to do with my hatred of Calilfornia. ( I admit it, I do hate SF and most of the people there and everything they believe and stand for. A really scummy town.) Actually parts of CA are nice. LA is better than I remember it and I had A LOT of FUN there.

Well, I live in Santa Barbara and I will never understand how the vote works here! I do know there are a lot of ignorant college people who probably vote twice. And there is a lot of money here....people who are living on trust funds and money they didn't have much to do with earning. Seems like that type always gets on their liberal wagon to try to make peace with themselves and justify their existence. Other than that.....I just don't have a clue but think all the time of better places to live!

It seems that the lefties, much more so than any conservatives I know, are inclined to want to meddle and crusade. Most conservatives, on the other hand, want to be left alone to live their lives. Unfortunately, the natural result is the lefties take over institutions while the conservatives are at work.
That's how I see it, anyway.

Oh you're right! San Diego is gorgeous! I've never gotten over it! And there's the Zoo--and the Wild Animal Park!

One of the best places to live is the Georgia coast.
To: garyhope
My daughter decided to move away from Santa Cruz. I asked her why. After some thought, she said, "I felt like I could be anthing in the world that I wanted to be--except myself.
To: Savage Beast
Thanks, but why do you consider the Georgia coast one of the best places to live?
