Talk show host Tom Sullivan just reported that during a press conference Gov. Davis said he was notified that there is evidence that terrorists plan to target the Coronado Bridge (San Diego), the Golden Gate & Bay Bridges (San Francisco) and an LA Bridge (didn't catch the name) tomorrow, Friday, Nov. 2nd.

No. The Gov, Red Davis, is too busy trying to run an electric utility business and to make sure that the good citizens of Cal don't have any means of self-defense.

I have a bridge, but I don't think there is enough room under it for explosives -- just food chunks that I have to pick out with a toothpick.

Don't be too quick to jump on the guy ... Most of us didn't expect the terrorists to USE the airplanes they hijacked as kamakazi's either.
Given them credit for innovation ... which is itself frightening.
Long Beach (technically) isn't LA, but it IS one of the busiest ports in the nation. That a single bridge isn't there with the visual impact of the WTC or Golden Gate doesn't matter....losing one (or more) highway/railway overpasses out of there would hurt the economy more that the loss of the WTC.
Also ... why "not" one or more LA freeway overpasses? They are bigger than anything in Afghanistan, and if it's attention you're seeking, what better tplace than LA?

This is what the HAZMAT truck driving schools were for. Drive semi's loaded with explosives (ANFO?) onto the crown of the bridges and detonate them, hoping to take out the centers of the spans. Sic semper ragheads.

Well, I don't want to see any American bridges destroyed, even if they are in the People's Republic of California.
But I would like to see a dramatic chase scene, with a van full of terrorists and C4 (on a road cleared of innocent bystanders, of course) being pursued by a military helicopter.
I'd like to see a lot of high drama stuff, near misses, temporary loss of control stuff, etc.
Then wrap it up with a tracer round finding the C4 and a monster explosion, with a perfectly situated camera catching the helicopter suddenly blasting through the fireball, with the door gunner leaning out and giving the single finger salute to the already medium well done peaceful martyrs below.
I'd appreciate seeing this. Thanks in advance.

Excerpts of another letter to Bakri by bin Laden, sent by fax from Afghanistan in the summer of 1998, were recently published in The Los Angeles Times. Bakri later released what he called bin Laden's four specific objectives for a Jihad against the U.S.: "Bring down their airliners. Prevent the safe passage of their ships. Occupy their embassies. Force the closure of their companies and banks."(28)

The Sacramento Bee and other California wires have nothing on this story. If Davis said this at a press conference, don't you think this would be all over the place by now?

How come I can't find news of this anywhere else?

I think that if the terrorists were picking a high-value target on the West Coast, there is really only one choice.
The Golden Gate Bridge.
Nothing else comes close in terms of symbolic value to the country, plus it would cripple traffic there for months, if not years.
But if you want big, ugly, shock value with a tale of motorists plunging to their deaths, that's the target. It would leave as big of a scar on the West Coast as the WTC collapse in Manhattan does for New York.

Just reported by Greg Jarret (not the cable news guy) on KGO 810 on Pete Wilson's show (not the ex-governor). More details in 8 minutes.
