HAMILTON -- Two men taken from the Greenwood Village Garden Apartments by FBI agents Monday are being held by the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service, an FBI spokeswoman said yesterday.
The men, who have not been charged by the FBI in connection with any terrorist investigation, were taken from the upstairs apartment at 228 Norman Court in handcuffs, a neighbor said.

Last night on C-Span, they braodcasted a meeting in Washington by BLACK MOSLEMS the "NEW BLACK PANTHERS"! It was so amazing to here the amount of hate, treason, and venemous speaches against the US. Right here, in our country! In Washington! I kept thinking within a minute, the FBI will rade this F---g mosque, and arrest these bastered.

Greenwood appartments; Greendale School? And Franklin Park, listed on return address just under "Greendale School," is midway between Trenton and Jersey City.
Probably on train line Mohammad Pervez may have taken between jobs at newsstands at both Trenton and Jersey City stations? (aristeides & kylaka - do either of you know if Franklin Park is a stop on the line?)
Trenton at lower left corner, Jersey City at upper right; Franklin Park is red star in between:

And he is apparently being questioned about two Jersey City men, Mohammed Jaweed Azmath and Ayub Ali Kahn, who were arrested aboard a train Sept. 12 carrying $5,000, box cutters and hair dye. These are the two guys. The one on the right (Azmath) looks a lot like John Doe #2 (who was described as looking Cuban).
Arrested Men's Shaved Bodies Drew Suspicion of the F.B.I.
Mr. Azmath told the officers that he earned only $300 a week at a newsstand in Newark where he and Mr. Khan had worked until late August. Two boxcutters and $2,400 of the cash were in a new black briefcase with a combination lock that belonged to Mr. Kahn. In addition to the pocket knife, the report said, Mr. Azmath carried nearly $3,200 in cash and photocopies of multiple passports depicting him in various guises: with a full beard; a mustache; and clean shaven, both with and without glasses. Yet, the report said, Mr. Azmath answered "no" when asked if he was carrying knives or a large amount of money...The F.B.I. also recently tested the Jersey City apartment for signs of anthrax, and its agents have looked into a tip that Mr. Azmath may have been seen in 1993, around the time of the van-bombing of the World Trade Center, in an apartment with a man who was later convicted in the assault. But officials said they doubted that Mr. Azmath had any connection to that attack.
Azmath sure gets around.

Azmath apparently has a fast azz. Good and informative post, syricus. Impressive, informative, and good groundwork for further questions. Hope the FBI reads FR.

Right, those are Mohammad Pervez's two Jersey City roommates -- the ones who might have been part of a failed hijacking attempt.
On September 11 they flew out of Newark on TWA flight 679 (bound for L.A.?). That flight was grounded in St. Louis when news of the other hijackings hit.

What a blow to their terrorist organization to have these two guys taken down so relatively fast.

Consider also: the other person who has skin anthrax is also a woman. Maybe she didn't sniff the insert, just handled it. And also consider the fact that most of these new cases are occurring in roughly the same geographic area, all close to Trenton, NJ, suggesting that it might be coming from someone who lives nearby. This might be nothing but my vivid imagination, but I wonder if the FBI is looking into the magazine and/or newspaper angle. It would be so easy to slip some powder in between some pages...

And the same is true for magazines at a newsstand. Remember, too, that thus far, the anthrax hasn't killed or even infected that many people--a handful, compared to what happened at the WTC and the Pentagon. So they're not very efficient in any event--and for that, we can be most thankful!!

All we hear is that the rightwingers are highly suspect. I have grown tired of that media claptrap, so I use righwingers to show my disdain for the media.

Maybe the newspaper was only used to hide the contaminated letter until it was mailed. Maybe it wasn't intended as a weapon, but to hide a weapon. I guess it could have been thrown in a trash can, then picked up off the top of the can by some unsuspecting commuter who brought the paper onto a train.

I think the short messages in these letters you posted are very telling. They are telling us you will die. They are telling us we have anthrax. They are telling us you cant stop us. Most importantly, they are telling us to take our penicillin - which we have been doing -- by the thousands I might add. Think about thousands of citizens taking cipro unnecessarily - when the major attack occurs the penicillin wont work. The four people who already died went very quickly. Penicillin given intravenously didnt even work for them. I think they are way ahead of us and have probably already thought of other ways to disburse the stuff. I believe it will be done discretely on the transportation systems in the big cities.

Now I can't even read my Red Book or Goodhousekeeping. Yesterday I threw away an unopened envelope full of coupons. I won't use them anymore. I can just imagine some "stuff envelopes for money--from home" type sprinkling powder on the inserts. My junk mail goes striaght in the trash now, no time for curiousity.

My son often brings home newspapers he picks up on the bus. I've always read them, but sometimes felt a little squeamish about it. That's why I have an interest in a potential anthrax-newspaper connection.
I used to hear that newspapers ordinarily have some quality (in the ink?) that helps keep germs from flourishing on the paper. I don't know if that is really true.

black recluse spider black widow vs. brown recluse. The first's venom is a neurotoxin, the second is a necrotic. The necrotic might indeed look like anthrax in early stages.

Some interesting coincidences.

Don't know about train, but that area loaded with mass transit busses going to Trenton, Philly, NYC, Newark, Atlantic City. Very easy to move around.

I believe that the letters to Brokaw and the NYP are photocopies, or made with carbon copy paper. They are exactly the same, down to the scribbles on the "T"s and "A" and the location of the letters on the page. If made with Cc paper, that paper is somewhere. I don't know about tracing a xerox.

Time for a little sodium pentothal therapy.
