The game was great! Loved Matt Williams home run. I usually root for the National League and am I glad it is not NY versus the Braves where I rooted for neither to win!

Oh, I hope you Yankee haters arent falling into the trap the Yankees always set. Take it from this Red Sox fan, the Yankees aren't dead until you stick a stake into their heart and burn the body. Anyone remember the 96 series. Virtually identical, actually worse for the Yanks. I think they're done, but....oh god the horrible memories.

Go D-Backs. I moved from California one year ago to Northern Arizona and am I glad. Out of the congestion and a winning baseball team to boot. Things do get better.

LOL - great post. They're bringing it back to the Bronx - all bets are off.

Great outing by the D-backs but never count the Yanks out. Hopefully BA will have a game like his last relief appearance against the Braves. He can be very very good, or very very bad. Go D-backs.

That fastball along the inside corner of the plate is just deadly. I haven't seen pitching this good since Tommy John killed the Yanks in game 1 of the Dodgers / Yanks series in 78. Unfortunately the Yankees beat L.A in Game 3,4,5 and 6. BTW, where is Roger Clemens? Is he too good to visit beautiful Arizona until he is scheduled to pitch?
He is so pale, he really oughta take his bratty little welps for a hike in the Superstitions (and leave em there)
Have to go now, its time for Soprano's and Band of Brothers.
GO D'BACKS!!!!
To: Mr.Clark
Bwahahahahahahahaha! Be prepared to sell your soul if you want Phoenix to beat those "Damned Yankees." The Bombers will do it in 7.

The man had his mojo working and then some. Pettitte had it rolling, too, until the late innings. But bear in mind: the A's had the Bombers down 2-0 in the division series and that was all she wrote for them, too. With this Yankee team, you don't ring up the receipt until the goods are in the bags. And if you think the Yankees aren't going to be doing serious homework after these first two losses, think again. And the Snakes know it. A right good showing by Arizona in games one and two, but it takes four wins to win it.
To: Mr.Clark
oh god the horrible memoriesThe Yankees are the sports equivalent of the Borg. One monochromatic collective consciousness driving inexorably towards its bleak goal of world domination. My heart goes out to the colorful interesting, and above all human teams who try to thwart the Skankee machine. But the Borg will be there to coldly capitalize on every little mistake. I wish the DBacks the best of luck.

Sounds like the Yankees have them right where they want them.

Matt Williams hits a 3 run homer to put the Arizona Diamondbacks two wins away from their first World Series victory.Sounds like the reports after Game 2 of the Divisional Series. "Terrance Long hit 2 home runs to put the Oakland A's one win away from the American League Champoinship Series."
It ain't over until Kate Smith is the one singing 'God Bless America'
