Tough luck.

Sorry, title should be: Thirty Journalists Reported To Be Held Hostage By Afghans
To: Merovingian
Only thirty journalists? Well, it's a start. How do we send them more?
To: Merovingian
I suppose it's a twist on the old lawyer joke now:
What do you call 30 journalists captured by the Taliban?
A good start!
To: Merovingian
Casualties of war. Too bad, so sad. If you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen.
To: Merovingian
If there are any Brits, I am sorry.
But, not 1 American life should be put at risk to help these 'reporters'
To: Merovingian
$33 per journalist? That's pretty steep.
If they're going to make unrealistically high demands like that, we know they're not serious about returning them. Somehow, we'll manage, just the same.
To: Merovingian
And this is supposed to deter us from something we are planning to do? Talk about a gross miscalculation!
To: Merovingian
Lets give them $1000 a piece tainted with Anthrax!!!!
To: Merovingian
demanding one thousand dollars as ransom to release them. They'll have to lower their asking price. This will be this group of Afghanis first lesson in market economics and supply and demand. Would they accept $1500 to keep them?
To: Merovingian
The tribesmen are demanding one thousand dollars as ransom to release them."Gentlemen, it's come to my attention that a break away Russian republic, Kraplacistan, is about to transfer a nuclear warhead to the United Nations in a few days. Here's the plan, we get the warhead and we hold the world ransom for, one million dollars."

Film at 11:00?
Ransom? Nah, we'll pay YOU $2000 to keep them.

Thanks for this post. Obviously these Afghans holding the 30 thirty liars, er reporters, have no concept of supply and demand!
There is such an over supply of liars, er reporters, their real economic value would be a negative number. They would have to pay us to take them back!
This is good collateral damage! You Afghans can keep these liars er reporters! Or you can try them as spies and handle them as you normally do!
To: Merovingian
So solly. Just the same, time to carpet bomb Ostana!
To: Merovingian
I had heard that ransom demand but you did not report the second part of the demand: $10,000 to keep them; hell, put up $100,000 and throw in some lawyers, too.
To: Merovingian
The tribesmen are demanding one thousand dollars as ransom to release them. If they want us to take those journalists back they'll have to offer a lot more than just a thousand dollars.
To: Merovingian
Great, now journalists are complicating things. Sorry, but their popularity is bottoming out to the levels of lawyers. Those scums can die in hell, because that is what it is, war is hell and you die there.
To: Merovingian
The group secretly entered Afghanistan Well DUH! What did they expect to find?
Talk about taking chances!!!
They're lucky to be alive if the Taliban isn't lieing again.
The Taliban has a history of doing that.
To: Merovingian
What are they trying to do, get on our good side?
To: Merovingian
Schadenfruede, again....
