Pumpkins......A Little History
Sorry you asked yet...LOLOLOL The word pumpkin comes from the Greek pepõn for a large melon. The English termed it pumpion or pompion. This term dates back to 1547, yet it did not make an appearance in print until 1647. The pumpkin was one of the many foods used by the Native American Indians in the new world and was a welcome discovery by the Pilgrims. The Indians pounded strips of pumpkin flat, dried them, and wove them into mats for trading. They also dried pumpkin for food. The new Americans heartily embraced the sweet, multi-purpose fruit which became a traditional Thanksgiving food. The colonists used pumpkin not only as a side dish and dessert, but also in soups and even made beer of it. The blossoms can also be used as those of the squash family, such as batter-dipped and fried.
There are 100's of recipes that can be prepared using Pumpkins, perhaps you would like me to stuff your mailbox with them ...Hmmmmmmmmmm....Bwhhahahahahhahah

Tofu-Pumpkin Pie
Especially for all of our Berkeley friends
- 1 block of tofu
- 1 can of pumpkin
- 2-3 egg whites
- 1 cup rice milk or apple juice
- 1 cup of natural sweetener (honey or brown sugar)
- Cinnamon and/or pumpkin spice
- 1 whole wheat or graham cracker pie crust
Mix all ingredients in a blender, pour into crust and bake at 385 for one hour.Options: add peanut butter, chocolate chips, or blue Peacock! LOLOLOL

- 3 oz. pistachio instant pudding
- 9 oz. Cool Whip®
- 1/2 c. nuts
- 15 oz.can crushed pineapple
- 2 c. miniature marshmallows
MIX, then lick the spoon!...LOLOLOL This is a Kraft recipe...not mine...gulp!

Super Pumpkin Nut Waffles
- 2 1/2 cups flour
- 4 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 3/4 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 3 eggs, separated
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup canned pumpkin
- 3/4 cup chopped pecans
Beat all ingredients togther except egg whites.Beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter right before baking in waffle iron.

Sauteed Fall Vegetables
A nonsweet pumpkin dish.
2 tablespoons walnut oil, or more as needed
1 clove very finely minced garlic (optional)
1 minced onion
1 acorn squash, peeled and cubed
1 carrot, peeled and cubed
1 cup cubed pumpkin
1/2 cup cubed zucchini
salt
nutmeg
finely chopped parsley
Heat the walnut oil over medium heat and saute the garlic. Add the onions and saute. Lower the flame and add the vegetables in the order given, sauteing each one for about 10 minutes before you add the next. You can add other fall root vegetables; just add them in the right order according to their cooking time. Other types of squash are good. White potatoes and sweet potatoes are okay. Don't use stuff like lettuce, tomato, cucumber, celery, cabbage. When all the vegetables are soft, add salt and mix in. Add a bit of nutmeg, not too much. Spoon into a bowl and sprinkle the finely chopped parsley over the top.

The only proper recipe for the Xlinton era; is a really BAD recipe for Haggis.How appropriate, why in the HEll, haven't we thought of it before ...Sheep's entrails, are truly a metaphor for the Clinton's entire lives, and symbollicof the trail of foul stains and leftovers.
Traditionally, the haggis is made with a sheep's stomach as a casing. It is filled with oats, onions, spices and the other edible organs that are cooked first and then chopped up. These are called "pluck," -- things plucked from the sheep carcass and include the "lights," or lungs.
For all its strange look and lore, The haggis is basically a big, round, spicy sausage.
