St. Patrick's, Fredericksburg, VA. We're very impressed with him also.

Um, Kyrie eleison, Christe eleison, Kyrie eleison

That's all I know so far. I learned that from the Mass in B minor, by J.S. Bach. Possibly my single favorite piece of music.

There's no reason not to include non-Catholics

As long as it doesn't get like "The Never Ending Story" thread. I helped start and stuck with the first 50 threads. The thread began when the Baptists dropped out of ecumenical talks with the RC Church. I changed the name of the thread to Never Ending Story to prove that the talks really never ended. I think their up to thread 150+

I didn't like the ridicule and anti-Catholic rhetoric, so like many Catholics, left the thread. Fundamentalist denial of historically empirical truths made the dialog so onesided and subjective that it was far from ecumenical and IMO, a waste of energy.

I needed to get that off my chest. Mea Culpa!!!

I didn't like the ridicule and anti-Catholic rhetoric, so like many Catholics, left the thread.

Sometimes I'm gung ho. And other times I'm not up for it. My rule of thumb is, if my heart's not into it, don't do it.

But I'm sure that all of our contributions make a difference, although we'll never know how.

Latin Mass Catholic bump from the greatest parish in North America, the Parish of St. Peter -- Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Catholic lawyer, Friday abstinence observing, daily Mass attending (most days anyway) and non-contracepting father of four (so far), convert bump as well.

That's all I know so far.

An excellent start. Listen to Bach some more or get yourself an old missal, it's not hard. Actually, it is a great idea to read the old Mass in English, then you will understand why people love it. You are in our prayers, best wishes with RCIA, my husband did it too.

Instead of fighting to get back in to what sounds like a questionable (at best) seminary, why doesn't he consider one of the Latin Mass seminaries like the FSSP's Our Lady of Guadalupe in Denton Nebraska?

Immaculate Conception of Mary (it was Christ), praying to statues and what supposedly happens at an RC communion and the entire papal system and celibacy (sp?). And the ole' Martin Luther (I'm not Lutheran either) bugaboo about being saved by grace not by works...I think you know the drill.

Don't get me wrong I married into a Catholic family, my uncle-in-law is an ordained tenured priest at Seton Hall Univ. After many long long long discussions we have agreed to disagree.

Sorry to hear that you still have problems with the faith. I have no problem with any of what you mentioned based solely on reason. In fact, it was learning the real facts about these issues that changed my entire attitude toward the faith. You ever want to talk, feel free to drop me an email.

I pray for all our persecuted brothers and sisters. I don't really feel isolated, just wish there were more Catholics of all colors, everywhere. Paraphrasing Saint Francis, we must preach often, and if necessary, use words. People will want what we have.

We would've hit 200 easy, but then came the new format. Oh, well ...
