Instead of fighting to get back in to what sounds like a questionable (at best) seminary, why doesn't he consider one of the Latin Mass seminaries like the FSSP's Our Lady of Guadalupe in Denton Nebraska?

The seminary is fine; he has no problem with them. It's in a different state. The problem is with our vocations director in THIS diocese. The diocese sends all college-age seminarians to St. Paul MN, which itself is a fairly conservative diocese. The seminary loved him, and he fit in very well there. If our diocese won't budge, he will consider joining a more conservative diocese (either St. Paul or La Crosse, WI) and then enter the seminary under their auspices. But his first choice is to serve his home diocese, if at all possible.
