I believe, as a people, we owe it to the memory of these Heroes of Flight 93 to erect a monument that will be a lasting memorial to their sacrifice, bravery, patriotism and courage.

Please forward this to everyone you know.

IMO, the best thing we can do to honor the victims is to rebuild the towers bigger and better.

Jeff...I'm so glad you started this petition. I have been thinking that a monument needs to be erected on the site where the first battle against terrorism was won by these brave Americans on Flight 93!

The monument in Pennsylvania is fine.

BUT: Let's get monuments going in the heroes home towns. Schools should be named for them.

How about also an "Iwo Jima" type of National Monument of those 4 NY firemen raising the flag, as in the popular photograph of them?

Larry Silverstein, the developer whose company just took over a 99-year, $3.2 billion lease on the twin towers complex in July, said he wants to rebuild, but not "a carbon copy of what was." Instead, he said on Thursday he may construct four 50-story buildings.

The 110-story twin towers, though maligned in their early years by critics who considered them boring, gangly, environmentally destructive and even arrogant, eventually won the hearts of New Yorkers and others worldwide as symbols of soaring aspirations and bold financial success. The world watched in horror on Sept. 11 as passenger jets with terrorists at the helm tore into the towers, eventually crumbling them and leaving thousands missing — 6,333 at last count.

Wouldn't it be the boldest, most defiant move of all for the towers to once again rise from the ashes?

Excellent, Jeff. I believe Mark Brigham (from San Francisco) was on Flight 93, as well, and worked with the other men...?

A National Monument.

Another national monument so that the Federal government can own more land?

How about reverting some of the lands in the western states back into private property.

Done & BTTT!

These people, through acts of bravery under adverse conditions, saved more lives than we'll ever know.

Jeff, normally I'm with you man, but I gotta pass. This is not a function of government. This is a function of US. We the People should contribute to a private fund.

We Americans have given our blood, we've given our money, and, God knows we've paid the taxes to bail everything out under the sun. Some more will even give their lives. We Americans have shown to ourselves and the world that we come through in times of crisis.

It will be much more meaningful if We Americans do this.
