Please don't ask me to kill others or to die myself in the name of revenge. LAURA VILLANI, Private first class, Pendleton Oh, of course not, Laurie. We'd have to be a bunch of big meansters to ask that of you! Give me an effing break!!??
THIS is why the U.S. Army should be MEN, and not WOMEN.
To: SAMWolf
What a whining, whimpering wuss. If she's not willing to kill in defense of her country, why did she even elist to begin with? It's not like she was forced into it... It's still a volunteer military.
That little girl needs to grow up.

This honey is really going to be upset when she finds that the white wine in the mess hall is domestic!!!

Laura should go to Washington, DC and look at the Vietnam wall or go to the local World War II monument and look at it. Those people did not wish to die or kill. They did what they must. She enlisted. Let her do her duty. desertion in time of war is a capital offense.
Stay well - Yorktown

Maybe in the movies, but not in real life... naw, not even in the movies... thats what breeds this bullhonk.

She took our money, she can stand and fight or face the firing squad. We were all young once, we all took our turn, these selfish people want what others died for but want to give nothing. Throw her in the brig, bread and water for ten years.

Why did she join then? Was it just for the money? The scholarships? What a loser.

"Please don't ask us to do this. I am not afraid to defend my country..."Unfortunately, her definition of defending her country consists of showing up for her weekend drills, possibly in her uniform (plus lipstick), and collecting her check...
"but I am afraid for my country."
If this is a representation of our National Guard, then I fear for MY country (that I spent over 22 years in the military defending) also...sad...
" Enough people have died already.
She's right in this...and we'd prefer to keep the death toll at this number. Unfortunately, freedom ain't free babe.
" Please don't ask me to kill others or to die myself in the name of revenge. "
Ask? I don't remember my military superiors asking me about my opinions about mission objectives, and I was a CDR (O-5), not a PFC. Who says we're acting for revenge? Perhaps we're doing this for National Security!
If this is for real, I pity this "servicemember"...DEVELOP A SPINE PRIVATE!

"LAURA VILLANI, Private first class, Pendleton"
Pacifists have their place - the Armed Service is NOT that place. A true pacifist will still serve their country in the medic corp (as Lew Ayer did in WWII), or in the Red Cross, or by caring for refugees - but when you enter the armed services willingly you take an OATH to defend this Nation and this Constitution. Obviously this woman lied when she took that oath - and as a result, her words mean NOTHING.
Take a note of her name and rank - I would suggest reporting her to her commanding officer with the caveat that she be REMOVED from her post before she causes any soldiers to die on the field of battle...
To: SAMWolf
So she joined the Oregon National Guard for the money, or what?!
All this whiny pacifism is starting to piss me off, especially when it's coming from alleged National Guard members.

This is one of the biggest failures in our National Guard and Reserve programs. They attrack far too many people who want the money and benefits, but who don't want the responsibility.
This person should be given a dishonorable discharge and we should return to the days when no employer would hire such a person.
To: The Other Harry
The letter is legit. The Commander of the Oregon NG was being interviewed and he read the letter on the air. I asked the Radio station for an e-mail copy and it was forwarded to me.

Why females should NOT be allowed in the military ! Any person, man or woman, with this kind of shallow outlook on life shouldn't even be allowed to vote, let alone join the military.
To: SAMWolf
the soldier beside her should consider her an enemy

Bump to ya...
To: SAMWolf
This self-centered, empty-headed little b*tch should be dishonorably booted out of service. She is a stain.
To: nopardons
What I want to know is WHY WAS THIS PRINTED!!! Undermining morale!! The paper should be shamed for acting in a matter against the government and the military!!! Bah!!
The Red Zone is now in New York as well. These people who are clueless need to get with the program!
To: SAMWolf
Please don't ask me to kill others or to die myself in the name of revenge. No problem with me. I'm not in favor of women as combat troops in the first place. Nor do I favor drafting women. This young woman can stay home if she likes. But she'd better not dare cross over into criticizing those who are willing to make the supreme sacrifice for their country, while she shelters herself behind the safety they provide.
