This is the account that my kids are taking to their middle school this morning. You'll forgive me if I bump the hell out of this. It may not be perfectly written. The formatting is probably screwed. My story may not be the worst or most memorable, but I was there. I shall never forget.
This is where my part begins. Share this. If you find a better story, share it. God bless America.

My God.

Thank you for attempting to help that woman. And...thank you for the recount. I hope the school allows it to be read in its entirety.

Oh. My. God. I was in the very same area -- same streets, etc., at the same time. You and I may very well have ran past or next to one another.

Thank you for taking the time to write this...and I am glad that you were able.

I can't even imagine what it must have been like to look up and see that horror --- knowing that it was not just concrete and steel, but humans, just like you and me, who had to endure that terrible and terrifying life-ending ordeal.
Thank you for your story. I hope that writing it has helped to come to grips with what you saw, heard and felt.

Thanks for sharing this with us, it's unimaginable that these accounts that I've been reading come from Americans in America.
These unspeakable bastards must pay, and pay dearly for their actions.
I am glad that you are OK, I couldn't imagine having gone through what you all did.
God Bless the dead, their families, and friends.
God guide and protect the rescuers, and our troops.
God Bless America.

Thank you for posting this! I never thought about the fact that the people closest to the attack did not have any information. Every cloud, sound, and rumour was something to fear.

Whew. Glad you're home.

Excellent firsthand account of what transpired on 9/11. Thank you for posting. Amazingly, there seems to be very few firsthand accounts of what happened that day. I attribute this to the fact that people who were there that day are still in a state of shock. Hopefully we will see more in the days ahead.
