First Architectural Draft of New World Trade Center
Another Freeper | 09/12/2001 | Another Freeper

Good evening folks.

Just this morning the mayor of New York stated that the World Trade Center would be rebuilt.  He just wasn't sure what form it would take.  Ahhhhh, some latitude.  Seems to me it should be a structure that would convey an image that the US will always remain strong and defiant, sortof like the "Don't Tread on Me Flag", but not exactly.  Hmmmm.

Yesterday evening another freeper offered up his idea for a new design.  I felt that it was an excellent choice.  As far as I am concerned, it sends the best message I can think of.  I developed the following graphic to convey his design to our fellow Freepers.

First of all the new design would consist of two new structures.  Those structures would be massive in design.  As you view the new structures from the front, a new 65 story stand-alone building dedicated to the rememberance of the past WTC  would appear on the left of the main structure.

Three towers in the other structure would stand 90, 100 and 75 stories tall.  Central Among them would be one massive new tower that would reach a full 200 stories into the sky, or about 2,200 feet.  At the top of that structure would be a 25 story observation deck with hundreds of chairs for people to sit in and enjoy the view as they contemplate the resolve and grandeur of the United States of America.

Those who struck down our building should realize that we will never be beaten.  The new structure would be almost twice as tall as the original and sure to send a fitting message.

For a view of the new World Trade Center, ckick here.

With applogies to the person who thought this up.  I haven't been able to find his post, so I could link and give him credit.

I had exactly the same thing in my mind today. Thank you for getting it down on paper.

Honestly, the fact is that something is going to be rebuilt there. What they decide on is likely going to be very interesting and should be a beacon of our resolve.

How about a long, low building, painted like the US Flag. That would look good after seeing the Statue of Liberty.
