Pakistan tries to get bin Laden handed over

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan, Sept. 12 (UPI) -- Senior Pakistani officials were meeting with ministers of the Taliban government in Kabul Wednesday, trying to convince them to hand over suspected terrorist leader Osama bin Laden.

Officials in Islamabad said the country's military government sent a delegation to Afghanistan after an emergency meeting of its core commanders to review the consequences for South Asia of the terrorist attacks in the United States.

Pakistani rulers fear a massive U.S. retaliation should U.S. authorities establish that bin Laden, already wanted in the United States for his alleged part in other attacks on U.S. interests, orchestrated the attack on the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon near Washington.

Sources in the Pakistani government said Pakistan received a message from Washington after Tuesday's attacks, asking for help in convincing the Taliban to expel bin Laden from Afghanistan where he has been hiding since 1996.

Although the sources refused to disclose the contents of the message, they said that it was so serious that Pakistani military rulers spent all of Tuesday night discussing it and then sent the delegation to Kabul early Wednesday morning.

Pakistan is one of three countries that recognize the Taliban as the legitimate government in Afghanistan and is believed to have considerable influence on the Taliban leaders.

Don't take this personally but you guys are not thinking straight. 20K+ US citizens have been killed in their offices, four airliners were hijacked and used in suicide attacks, the Pentagon was attacked. This is war.

It is TOO LATE to "hand over" OBL, which will not happen anyway. OBL is the Defense Minister of Afghanistan. OBL and his ilk have been aided and abetted by the governments of Afghanistan, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Libya, and Sudan. The US must simply decapitate these governments post haste. Send the armed forces in to clean up and PUMP OUT ALL THEIR OIL. Install American Military Government in those countries.

The US has to root out ALL these terrorist organizations (not just OBL) NOW. They have to terminate the offending abovementioned governments who have given aid and comfort to these people NOW, with extreme prejudice.

This is an act of war, boys, not an act of terrorism. Think Pearl Harbour, not TWA 800. Remember what happened to the perps of Pearl Harbour. They are much better at making consumer goods now than conducting carrier operations against US targets. Maybe it is time the arabs took up another line of work, too. I think they can be persuaded to do so, I hope the President does so, quickly.

Actually, I think this should be an excuse to go after all terrorist groups including those not directly responsible for this. If you aren't a terrorist group or aren't harboring one, then you are OK. If you are a terrorist group or are harboring one, then you get exterminated.
