Kid just got home from school. She hadn't seen the videos of the second plane. Her question to me was who in the world besides us has nukes. That gives you the tone of one 13 y.o. American girl's idea of appropriate response.

Am home and safe. Arrived home at 12:15 local. Hellacious commute. Subway under Pentagon shut down (for obvious reasons). News reports say street traffic out of the city was pure panic. On Metro we were taken off the train in Rossyln, right across the river from DC. Had to board a second train - which only went as far as West Falls Church - where it again dropped everyone off. Finally, with third train, got to my car in Vienna.

And, of course, everyone else is trying to go home. Traffic lights are geared for midday, not rush hour. More fun.

B-i-l works in Pentagon. Had to leave line open to find out status. Learned through mom he's all right - he was nowhere near the crash site.

As you know, World Trade Center (WTC) 1 and 2 are now gone, but WTC 7 (a smaller tower) has been on fire for hours, and it is now in danger of collapse.

It is real simple. It is war.

I am convinced that Osama Bin Laden is the only one with the capacity to train pilots (no way American pilots would have done this; they would have insisted on being shot first), and coordinating the activities needed.

Afghanistan insists on harboring this guy.

There's the country, there's the target. Declare war!

Net is slow today, FR is overloaded, lots of people watching TV, and trolling for news. It may be a little slow on ATRW for a while. If you're around tonight, my Wife, Snowtrill, will probably be here. She found ATRW last night and met a few of the crowd.

As if yesterday didn't leave me angry enough at the media .... today I am ready to put the nooses around their necks and hang them all for treason!!!!!!!!!!! Some of the reports I have heard of what they are saying are just beyond comprehension ...... do they not have one single patriotic bone in their scumbag bodies???

Someone, somewhere said this is like Pearl Harbor Day ...... I disagree ..... from what I heard, EVERYONE in the country was of one voice that day. From what I can tell many in the media are longing for x42 to be their crier in chief ..... and are saying dastardly things about President Bush. I better not say anything else or I will end up using language that is most unbecoming of a lady and a Christian. Up to now, I have managed to be restrained in my words but my thoughts are running rampant! Thanks for letting me vent!

I heard that. It is so sad. My prayers for Ted Olsen.

I will tell you, I was rather nervous riding on a train, underground, during all of this. So were a lot of other folks on the subway. Couple that with all of the service disruptions, and not a whole lot of comforting words from Metro (note to Metro - get dialed into what is happening around you and let customers know what the h--- is going on!), and that only added to the apprehension.
