National Sportscaster Jim Rome has taken it upon himself to engage in a lot of (President) Bush bashing today for Bush's NFL opening coin toss yesterday. He says that all America is e-mailing him their agreement. Please drop him a quick e-mail to let him know what sports loving Americans with brains think.

For example, I queried, "Do you really prefer the constant hijink of the prior White House occupant who would have, instead, been taking the time to constantly play with himself in the oval office, or "finishing himself" (as explained by 'that woman', Ms. Lewinsky) in the little sink just off the President's personal kitchen, while the Red Chinese took our most advanced nuclear weapons secrets in exchange for campaign contributions? Give him and me a break - I think not."

Seriously, I heard it too, and didn't think it was altogether fair. But Rome was pretty hard on Clinton, wasn't he? His sthick doesn't usually involve being niiiice to people. But let's face it, a lot of Rome's audience comes from the Blue Areas, so he's got to play to them too, even though he often comes down hard on drugs and other problems of sports.

Well I fail to see what's wrong with tossing the coin. Presidents have thrown out the first ball for a long long time. They're both just formalities to opening the various sporting seasons. Big deal.

He's blasting Bush for taking the time to be with the little gridiron wanna-be's and tossing the coin rather than "working" on Sunday (as he seemingly doesn't expect the rest of football loving America). Lots of cheap-shots.

It's nice to have a (true) sports loving Pres. in office. Clinton always seemed so awkward around sporting events except when he played with his instrument (saxaphone, high school band alumnus ) and only did it for his own selfish reasons. Bush is seemingly trying to exhalt (sp?) the kids through sports, ala the tee-ball games.

Don't email this twit. He got famous because he ridiculed someone (Jim Evrett) by calling him "Chrissy." That's his claim to fame and he enjoys ruffling the feathers of his followers. Personally, I wouldn't give him the time of day.

I think Rome can be very, very funny at times. But basically he bashes everyone. He is not a political commentator in any sense. And yes, he did PLENTY of Clinton-bashing back in the Monica days.

If you want a serious liberal sports talk show host to be angry at, try Tony Kornheiser. His show was unlistenable during the election season. It was basically a daily three-hour commercial for Al Gore. And speaking about how Bush was going to toss the coin for 10 football games Sunday, he said something like "Hey, this proves Bush can count to 10!" Serious wit there. Hey, I don't mind a *clever* dig at Bush, but that's just pathetic.

Over the years you've bashed Marv Albert as a sodomite, but now spend a significant amount of time defending gays. John Bonehead Rocker for his "insensitive" comments about gays, immigrants, minorities, but it's OK to put gang-bangers like Snoop on the TV show. Euro's used to be a target too, and anyone from the South tends to get characterized as a chaw-spewing bigot. I have a question for you? What is your real name and what is your ethnic background? You seem to spend a great deal of time bashing other people, maybe you could be honest enough to let the world know more about you. Nah, that will never happen. You are too busy condescending and patronizing other people. Can't wait for your attacks on Bush to occur, since Bush will get hit from all sides this week. ps: Jim Everett was right.
