Former US President Bill Clinton was given a warm welcome as he arrived in Sydney this morning. Mr Clinton arrived shortly after 6am (AEST) on a commercial United Airlines flight before being transported by a motorcade to an eastern suburbs hotel.
Publicist Max Markson said Mr Clinton was made to feel welcome by crowds of wellwishers as he arrived at the Stamford Plaza Hotel in Double Bay.
"He was greeted by a host of well wishers where he signed autographs," Mr Markson said.
"He's very excited to be back in Sydney, loves Sydney, and is looking forward to the big fundraiser at the Randwick Racecourse tonight."
Mr Clinton will give a 45 minute address at the fundraising event covering global issues and anecdotes about life in the White House, Mr Markson said.
Mr Markson said he hoped to raise a million dollars from the evening for The Children's Hospital at Westmead.
"It's $1,100 a ticket [and] sold out to 800 people ... we're hoping to raise a million dollars for the children's hospital tonight," he said.
Ray Martin will be Master of Ceremonies while Marina Prior, the Australian Army band and the Australian Girls Choir will be performing.
Tonight's event is expected to be Mr Clinton's only public appearance during his three-day visit.

I wonder, since Clinton is on that side of the world, if James Riady will be attending the gala event?

"It's $1,100 a ticket [and] sold out to 800 people ... we're hoping to raise a million dollars for the children's hospital tonight," he said. $880,000 less at least $150,000 doesn't quite get it, does it? Plus I'm sure they have to pay his expenses.
Remember that he "offered" to speak at the Goodwill Games for some outrageous amount?

"He was greeted by a host of well wishers where he signed autographs," Mr Markson said. A rent-a-mob, no doubt.

"No, Xlinton is well thought of in the socialist enclaves of many foreign countries."I just wish he would stay in one of those countries and not come back to the US.

Depends on your definition of "exactly".

Australia had intelligent people. Today's dundee loves a rapist. Maybe it takes one to know one. It's called a "special relationship".

I remember a time when former presidents went back to their home states and faded into the background! Many of them, I'm sure, were glad to be out of the spotlight! Not this creep! He treks and dreks all over the world. I'm sick to death of these two and their creepy brat. Shoot, I'm even sick of Buddy!
To: In mourning for six years
Don't knock Buddy. He's the only one in the family with any character.
