Could you grow up ? I am far from " hysterical ". newbie. What is hysterical is that a bunch of people without the slightest idea about reality, come here and try to pretend that they are the authorities on politics.

Oh...you mean like you...huh?

learn from the Liberals and concede that it just may take more than 8 months or even an entire administration to turn things around.

Texas, it's gonna take alot longer than one administration to turn things around. I think the point is, no one's even started turning -- this boat is still steaming full-ahead toward the wrong shore.

In fact I would bet a large sum of money that you are a Liberal Democrat.

On another thread Xclusive said he/she preferred the PRI to Fox.
Sounds like you would win some money on that bet.

Don't worry about 'nopardons', he's like a rabid dog.

I'll take the word of a that long time Freeper over a newbie anyday.
Free Republic is being ruined by jealous, hateful Dems and One Percenters, which are you?

Yes and it is going to take a national population that does NOT elect a Republican by 527 votes. You simply cannot ignore the fact that this country is evenly split 3 ways, Conservatives, moderates and liberals. Until that ratio shifts, you are going to get what we have today for as far as the eye can see. A president has only as much power as the populace grants him.

I can promise you that anyone signing on in the last two months are Liberals stirring the pot. The 1 percenters are still at 1 percent.

I didn't realize that logic and argument took a back seat to 'long time FReeper' status

It doesn't, why don't you try it sometime?

You got it exactly backwards (IMO) -- you don't wait for the country to agree with you, you do what Reagan did, you get out there and LEAD them. Bush and the current crop of appeasers use this "the country's not for us" mantra as an excuse not to lead. Ronald Reagan didn't wait for the poll numbers -- he got out there and made his case.

Bush, again in my opinion, hides behind the excuse that the country is not pro-life enough. Baloney. This country is made up of half-witted, TV-besotted fools who will follow whatever is sold to them (e.g., the success of Clinton). Instead of waiting for public opinion, he needs to get out there and sell the message, and do the right thing. Bush has no intention of being a conservative -- indeed, he doesn't even know what one is.

The sooner we conservatives recognize this, the sooner we can start turning that ship around.

even if 99 % of what they claim to want was done.

So what percentage is being done? There's a five percent tax cut, but that seems like small change indeed when he's prepared to give away free citizenship to millions of illegal immigrants.

Really, Did RR overturn Roe v wade? Did RR abolish the department of education? Did RR raise taxes after his first tax cut? Did RR dare to advocate partial privatization of Social Security? Didn't RR grant blanket amnesty to 3 million illegal aliens? I love Ronald Reagan but he was just a president with his heart on his sleeve just as GWB is. Ronald Reagan, just like GWB, was a politician and he made compromise after compromise with Tip O'Neil to get his signature issues passed. Don't throw Reagan up, especially to those of us that have still vivid memories of his administration.

First of all, I am NOT your friend. I view you as the enemy within.

What I wrote to you, is a quite usual form of parody rebutal, but you are too new here you know this. People used to lurk, get a feeing for this place, and wait before they jmped in, hed first into the fray. Now, people join and dive in mpmenets later. There are inside jokes here. You are the one who is quite litterally OUT OF IT.

This is supposed to be a Conservative forum. The only problem is that vast groups here disagree utterly what the meaning of Conservative is. To each set / grouping of fringers it is ONLY their way, and if you don't agree 100 % with every jot & totle, 100% of the time; then you are not only NOT a Conservative, but a whole host of other things as well.

Kiddo, the purpose of an article, editorial, etc. as the header on each thread, is for the ( HELLO ... THIS IS YOUR WAKE UP CALL ! ) purpose of discussion. There is NOTHING in this article which led to most of the replies. That is the fault of the frigers.

I don't have to wake up; but you do. I never claimed that President is an ardent Coservative. Some of his positions are , some aren't . He certainly isn't a Socialist.

Tell me, which elected president, do you consider to have been a Conservative. Remember, this is about an ELECTED president ; not your " dream candidate ", who I bet you would wind up finding great fault with.

I'm afraid you have been exposed as a democrat posing as an ultra liberal in order to disrupt. Maybe you will learn a little something about the Republicans and our president while you are here. Might read that article at the top of the thread again too.

And nopardons is a lady and by no means rabid.

What a bunch of balogna. There are plenty of freepers who have been around for a long time with the same views...that Bush is a loser.

You gals and guys have got to come up with something better than this weak argument.

Obviously many of us who oppose much of what Bush is doing are more conservative than you Bush yesmen.

Yes we know them well. You and the other disrupters are just latching on to them. Look you are fooling no one except the original cast of mouth breathers.

You're making my point for me (well, you're refuting nopardons' point anyway) -- RR was FAR from perfect, but I still think he was a pretty good president, comparatively speaking. Nope, he didn't make much of a dent in SS, he didn't follow through on his pledge to cut the govt., and he didn't pan out to be the pro-lifer many thought he was either. I happen to think that he was too timid in using the bully pulpit (Remember, I was there too, back in the 80's.) He could have accomplished more, but let's not quibble. He was a very good president. Maybe even a great one -- certainly the greatest one we've had in my lifetime.

The point is, Bush is so much less than even RR. Bush does not take it to the people, Bush does not use the position of president even in the way that RR did. That's the problem -- our expectations are so incredibly low that we conservatives cannot even begin to imagine success. Instead we accept Bush because he's arguably better than Gore. But merely voting for someone because they're less evil than the Dem will never get us what we want. We need someone who will make some progress in turning this ship around.

That ain't Bush.

Yor stupidity and lies are purile.

I am mot a man, I am not rabid, I understood more about politics, when I was 16, than you'll ever know. You and your little pals, whom you have lied about knowing on another site, yet welcomed them here ( on a different thread ! ) as old friemds , are just here to stir up trouble. It won't work. You are as children trying to get the adults.

Go back from whence you came.
