Imagine if there were no Free Republic...
- No Sore Loserman protests to save an election...
- No Washington Times Ad pushing Congress to Impeach...
- No exposing of traitorous public officials...
- No media watchdog to ferret out the bias...
- No Breaking News...
Free Republic is a user supported website that runs off the brains, experience, energy, and yes, the cash, of freepers and lurkers. It is an undeniable fact that Free Republic has been instrumental in stopping the liberals with thier socialist agenda, and keeping up the fight for conservative causes and against corruption in government.

FreeRepublic and Jim Robinson's finances
$100.00 in from Virginia.
Thank you Virginia.
Spam? Spam? Who called a note from FreeRepublic Spam? Let me at em...
None of us would pay for Spam. But a short little note would get many of us to pay for the three course meal that is FreeRepublic.
Put me any place on the emailing list for such notes. I can be on the bottom, just so long as I'm on it and get notice.
I think mailing out a short note to our members is a great idea.

Ditto.
Many people do not have a great deal of time to spend on Free Republic and can easily miss the fundraising threads unless they are specifically looking for them. All the volunteers on these threads can use a little extra help to get the information out to FReepers and Lurkers everywhere.
I would also like to make a suggestion that I made earlier. Free Republic should identify those Freepers who make a monthly contribution by putting an asterisk next to their screen names or some other way of setting them out from the rest. I think this recognition will encourage others to go on the monthly program. Thus, we with the asterisks next to our name, might be given a little leeway if we start whining and complaining about things.

In my opinion, this is the best suggestion for getting monthlies that I have ever read on any of the fund-raising threads.
FReepers and newbies would be curious as to why some names had an asterisk after them and others didn't and all Free Republic would have to do is put a small "*denotes monthly supporter" or something to that effect at the bottom of the page with a link to where one could sign up. I don't think too many FReepers would not want to join in this effort and most of your fund-raising problems would be solved. It's certainly worth a try!
Thank you, SamAdams76, for posting this suggestion.
To put my money where my mouth is, I will match all the new monthlies, up to the amount of $500.00, that are made before midnight tonight.
I'd hold the direct e-mail in reserve...but be sure that a promotion appears at the top of each thread. If we come down to the wire and have had limited participation, then unleash the e-mail!
An e-mail from JimRob is not spam!!!
Come on, do it. All the cool FReepers are. Besides, it's as easy as 1-2-3-4.
Click. Support FR. Spread the Conservative Message. Enjoy Eternal Bliss (Well, not quite. But you will feel really good!).
You are bring tears to my eyes.
If only the registeration did as well as you guys have done.
I remember during the last FReepathon that I had a little grey box pop up in the middle of my screen advising me of the FReepathon that I had to click "OK" to make it go away. Somehow a enterprising FReeper managed to make that happen. Why not make something like that pop up when you first log in. Not as a direct link to the support site, but just as a reminder that you would have to "click" through to make it go away.
As to identifying contributors, there is much controversy about this so we have decided to proceed with caution and will probably not make this kind of move until the lawsuits are resolved and FR morphs into whatever comes next.
