Do the election returns support the premise that the economy was booming? People tend to vote their pocketbooks, and the election turns suggest the administration has been cooking the books on unemployment.
Kind of like watching a corpse move right after death.
Trumps fault.
There, fixed it.
Reality is not the Lefts forte. See France. All the benefits the current slate of candidates promises and still it’s not enough.
Indoctrinated voters will not be convinced they are wrong.
“Even the Demonrats abd RINOs won’t be able to stop it.”
I wouldn’t bet on that. The DSA are expert destroyers.
Regardless of the numbers, free is still better. No matter how much free costs someone else.
Well the voters decided they were tired of economic growth and prosperity and wanted more of the Ukraine war that raised gas prices and policies that cause inflation.
If you think a jobs report changes what happened this week, you’re delusional.
The unemployment rate is low, markets are up, GDP is strong. Inflation is elevated, but we’ve had worse - as recently as 2022.
I think the economy is in fine shape. Voters didn’t agree for reasons I’m trying to understand (gas prices, I guess) but still don’t completely get.
But it’s pointless to think another jobs report on FBN or CNBC or in the WSJ was going to change that perception.
I suppose, just to pontificate further -
I do understand the “K shaped economy” worries. It’s always a bad time to be in debt (individually, I’ll avoid my usual complaints about the government debt for now) but it gets especially bad when rates are high and likely going higher. I want to be... understanding... but 9 times out of 10, getting in debt (and then getting deeper and deeper) is a CHOICE.
I also get that housing prices are a big worry with young people - but I still think that A)~7% is NOT historically bad. Yeah, it’s not 3% - but be realistic. 3% mortgages are a once a century thing. 7% is pretty historically in line and B)I continue to believe the problem is that first time home buyers insist on a townhouse in Brooklyn. YOU SHOULD NOT EXPECT A TOWNHOUSE IN BROOKLYN! Or a 2000 sqft condo on Miami Beach. Or a McMansion in Ft Worth.
There’s nothing wrong with a 900 sqft starter home in Ft Wayne, Indiana or the like. I know this because it was fine for me and mine when I was just starting out!
The problem with low price homes is most likely they will be in crime-ridden areas.
Adjusted last months numbers up 51,000 too. The fix was in.
Who cares. Not working living off the state is the way to go.
