The New York Times Has a Grim Midterm Prediction for Republicans. Here's What Could Change It. (LOL)

Turnout, turnout, turnout.

The New York Times’ final midterm prediction doesn’t look good for Republicans, as the NYT/Siena poll shows Democrats expecting to sweep every swing-state Senate race. Most other forecasts also paint a grim picture for Republicans’ chances of holding the Senate, while the House appears poised to swing toward Democrats, as the “people’s house” typically swings against the president’s party during midterms.

But Republicans need to remember that polls are not the elections themselves. And while the polling picture favors Democrats, turnout is where Republicans have the opportunity to make these races far closer.

New Battleground Polls Show Harris Has Fundamentally Changed the Race

If there were any doubt whether Kamala Harris has transformed this year’s presidential election, this morning’s latest New York Times/Siena College polls put it to rest.

In our first swing state polls since her entry into the race, Vice President Harris leads Donald J. Trump by four points each in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin among likely voters. It’s a major shift from previous Times/Siena polls, which found Mr. Trump leading Ms. Harris and President Biden by an average of one or two points each across the same three states.

Sometimes, it can be hard to explain why polls shift from week to week or month to month. In today’s polarized politics, it can even be hard to explain why voters ever shift at all. In this case, it’s easy: Ms. Harris’s entry into the race has upended the fundamentals of this election.

With Ms. Harris riding an extraordinary wave of momentum at the top of the ticket, at least for now, the usual political dynamic of the Trump era has been restored. In the poll, at least 49 percent of likely voters in each of Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin say they have a favorable view of her, a level neither Ms. Harris nor Mr. Biden obtained in any previous Times/Siena poll this cycle.

Congress has about two months left to do what it should have done about 20 months ago.

“Congress has about two months left to do what it should have done about 20 months ago.”

...Unless and until the Dems handcuffs are removed by a large “wave”, they will likely target a few of the RINO’s to jump ship and take a leadership roll with the thugs.

I think we will keep the House and the Senate.
And I think the media will declare it a stunning Democrat victory.

It really won’t hurt the election for me to say it here and I will be very happy if everyone can mock me for my cowardice after the election.

We are very likely to get wiped out in this election and it’s not just because of some improperly weighted polling.

The average person doesn’t care about elections as much as we do, and the Democrats are extremely motivated to come out against Trump, whereas the average person has fallen for the idea that Trump is responsible for higher prices.

Hope I’m wrong and will be watching the elections all night hoping.

Do you have any facts to back up your "joke" comment? A more reliable poll? I believe we're going to get wiped out. I hope not, but I have no data or information that tells me differently.

I am perfectly content whenever gas is below $4.00 a gallon in my area. Currently, gas is $4.15. Big whoop. That 15 cents above my preferred price seems pretty darn insignificant to me. I can’t believe anyone looking at the current economic state of the country would be unhappy. Yes, some things (housing, healthcare, insurance, etc.) are “unaffordable” but that is largely because of Biden, not Trump. Trump’s action in Iran has not destroyed the American Dream for anyone.

Don't lie.

Trump was elected by Democrats and Republicans because he promised no more foreign wars on behalf of alien peoples.

He lied and he stabbed every American who voted for him as their #1 issue in the back.

Yes, buying gas is an incessant reminder of the betrayal.

But it's the betrayal that will fuel the voting tomorrow.

If gas went up to print a copy of the Epstein files for every home in America and to have 2/3 of the illegals in detention camps on the way home, I would happily pay it.

Suppose that the polls are bogus and that Republicans win. What then is the Democrat plan?

Perhaps to claim that the election was stolen, organize massive demonstrations, and push the color revolution that DataRepublican revealed plans for.

There’s a hint that internal polls are looking better for Republicans than the published polls: Why did the New York Times run articles just a few days before the election critical of the Democrats in Alaska and Texas? This is so out of character for them that I wonder whether their polling shows strong Republican leads and they figure they have nothing to lose by an appearance of fairness.

Anyway, if you haven’t voted yet, go vote!

The problem is that these fake polls are designed to DEPRESS and SUPPRESS our side...and it often works. VOTE!!!

It was high interest rates, not price of gas which caused landslide victory for Reagan. I will never forget I bought a truckload of utility stocks paying 12 to 14% dividends in 1979. After a year after Reagan inauguration, my stocks doubled and tripled as inflation came down. I credit Fed chairman Volcker and president Reagan. I can never forget it as long as I live. It was the beginning of road to financial independence for me.

There aren’t as many democrats as everyone believes, fewer still that vote. Without breathtaking fraud there is no democrat party.
