Operatives aligned with Mary Peltola, the Democratic nominee for Senate, spent months recruiting candidates to peel votes from Senator Dan Sullivan, the Republican.
In the summer of 2025, a staffer for Mary Peltola, the Alaska Democrat who was eyeing a run for Senate, received unusual instructions from top campaign aides: Find as many people named Dan Sullivan in Alaska as you can.
The staffer complied, combing through voter records to produce a list of Dan Sullivans from across the state.
This was no random request. Dan S. Sullivan is the name of the state’s Republican senator. And if the Peltola campaign or its allies could track down and persuade another Dan Sullivan to run for Senate, the confusion could cost the senator crucial votes on the state’s unusual, four-person ballot.
The plan worked. This spring, a retired teacher from a tiny fishing village along the Alaska Panhandle, reachable only by air and sea, announced his candidacy for Senate. His name was Dan J. Sullivan.
The Peltola campaign has repeatedly denied any involvement in his candidacy. But The Times has found, based on interviews and text messages, along with documents prepared for a potential lawsuit against the campaign, that not only did Ms. Peltola’s team work with people trying to recruit Mr. Sullivan to run for Senate, but the effort was much broader. The group worked to coax other would-be spoilers into the race, to dilute the incumbent’s support and help catapult the Democrat to victory.
The endeavor, which was internally called the ballot composition project, involved secret trips to far-flung Alaskan communities and the appearance of a mysterious Midwestern operative, who traversed the state using a fake name and made his pitch to would-be candidates over beers at brew pubs.
It also involved the Peltola campaign’s lawyers, as well as...

These people on the Left are the biggest, most raging, immoral, lying, Leftist scumbags. All of them in government and supporting them, bar none.
None.
I do not necessarily include ignorant, lazy, and gullible people who pull the levers for these Leftist vermin, though I have little to no respect for them as fellow Americans, as they bear responsibility as voting citizens to educate themselves.
But I assign the greatest portion of culpability to those execrable creatures on the Left who do all they can to lie and mislead. They are primarily the ones doing the work of Satan on this Earth.
But I do have a question: What has happened to the New York Times? Has someone murdered their organization and put it on as a skin-suit or something like that?
First, the Ilhan Omar story. Now this.
Dogs will be sleeping with Cats...
“What has happened to the New York Times?”
Patriots Are In Control.
Do you mean at the NYT or in the government right now that Patriots are in control?
Are they just angling to show in some way to the public eye they are “impartial”?
The two Dans was known back in the primaries. Why do the NYT and others now jump on it?
Maybe they see it is all coming out and they are tried to stay ahead of it.
I was listening to the Vince Coglianese show this morning, and he has excellent coverage.
Apparently, the Democrat running for Congress fired her campaign Director, who was pissed off and ended up going to the New York Times to give them the story.
It sounds like at the last minute she tried to prevent them from publishing it, because she was going to try to get a lawsuit filed against the campaign for improper dismissal, and thought that her contact with the New York Times might get in the way of her being able to get her payday from the perspective senators campaign.
From all accounts, the New York Times refused to stop or delay publishing the story.
After all, they gotta make money at the New York Times, right? If they fumble it, they might lose the whole thing lock stock and barrel… So they pulled the trigger.
I have to admit, I find grim humor in all of this – a circular firing squad on the left is always fun to see.
1) The GOP filed a lawsuit to block the fake Dan Sullivan from appearing on the ballot. Eventually, the case got to the Alaska Supreme Court, which ruled the fake Dan Sullivan could indeed be on the ballot. During the proceedings, Peltola, and/or her staff, swore under oath they did nothing to arrange the fake Dan Sullivan to run for the Senate. The NYT uncovered incriminating emails and texts clearly suggesting they absolutely did orchestrate the candidacy of the fake Dan Sullivan. At the very least, they are guilty of perjury.
2) There was money that changed hands here to finance the scheme. $87,000. The Peltola campaign coordinated with a PAC to hide their involvement in the payment. This coordination is illegal. Last night, Carl Higbie of Newsmax led off his show with lots of details of this shady money transfer. You can watch it here:
Meanwhile, didn’t Alaska’s GOP Senator, Lisa Murkowski, endorse the Democrat candidate in this year’s race?
Money changed hands to finance the scheme.
More than $87,000.
You’re probably right about that, but so far what has been confirmed is $87K. The more we dig, the more we’ll find.
If Alaskans reject Ranked Choice Voting next Tuesday, Murk will have a tougher fight to get re-elected in 2028.
He should be TRIED and if found guilty,
he should be hanged if not jailed for the rest of his life.
It’s big news after tht Times finally admits it... after how long?
I wouldn’t be surprised if they are gloating at how clever their side can be and how lame is the response by GOPe. It’s a trait of tyrants to demoralize they who’d they subjugate. The job is not yet complete, but they think victory is no far off and feel like boasting early.
Not a certainty, but also not far-fetched.
Nothing secret about it. We all knew who was behind it.
Knowing and proving are two different things,
This is the proof part of the equation.
Same kind of thing Roger Stone has done for Republicans since Nixon.
Did have campaigns illegally coordinate with PACs?
