FIRST ON FOX — The Pentagon is preparing U.S. military bases to keep operating for at least 90 days without outside support as it prepares for the possibility of a major war that could cripple power grids, disrupt supply chains and threaten critical infrastructure on American soil.

October Surprise much?
The Pentagon has plans for every single scenario imaginable. This is no different.
It isn’t a plan, it is something they are doing, and it is about time since this should have been started and maintained since 70 years ago.
“I first viewed a Glenn Beck clip on this, which I don’t have a link to (it was on FB). However, Beck may be using this FoxNews link for at least some of his sourcing.
October Surprise much?”

With Beck you can count on everything old being “new” again when he finally discovers it. I’m sure he’ll be marketing real “Glen Beck fallout shelters” next to his beets and carnivora soon.
If the military is planning on 90 days, how long should we?
Oh my! All those books that were written plans during Sthe Cold War, and all those ORIs, I remember well, both as a Warehouse Supervisor and later ass an asst radar val shop chief.
46 years old news!

I think the Roosevelt incident put everyone on high alert.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
This sounds like Event 201, that told us what they were going to do to us when the released COVID-1984.
This is not preparation. This is an op.
Who is on the other side of the US military?
“””””If the military is planning on 90 days, how long should we?”””””
Two weeks should be the absolute minimum for normal life, 90 days is superb and covers a heck of a lot of scenarios, 90 days is true prepper stuff.
I think everyone should prep for as long as is practical for their lifestyle, space and income, although as someone with almost no money I’m prepared for about 18 months, which is a nice place to be, and easy if someone is frugal and puts some thinking and creativity into it.
For the 100 million dollar rich freepers here, I think 10 years is the ideal place to be, that would cover the situations that interfere with weather and crops and civilization, and how nice is the situation for freepers who live on farms or such plus are preppers at the same time, and have big stocks of prepper supplies like stored wheat and rice, and plenty of canning materials and such to coordinate with and complement their farm/off grid advantages.
Medical equipment that does not require electricity is often not available.
That is a toughie, doing deep prepper research online might find solutions, but not all survival problems are solvable for all people, we do what we can do with what we have, we are improving our situations and not building impregnable guarantees against threats, we just do our best within our means.
Good advice.
For others you just have to make do.
And while insurance will often cover electric mobility aides they will often not cover non-electric.
Solar panels and power cells.
I think a doable sweet spot in prepping is 30 days, 1 month of self sufficiency, that is a lot of time for things to get right again and a lot of time for the government to get some sort of help out, even under the most dire situations.
My impression is that the government wants to get there by day 3 but we have seen situations that are overwhelming and take a week or even more before help arrives.
Two weeks of supplies is a nice cushion but if there were multiple major terror attacks that overwhelmed the system, that week could stretch into multiple weeks, government would know that weak people were starting to die and that families and elderly couldn’t last long, so the government would be desperate to not let things go for over a month come hell or high water, something would be happening in regards to help, even if primitive and unsophisticated and lacking in thoroughness.
Pure speculation, but I strongly suspect that CENTCOM is about to shutdown Irans energy infrastructure and it’s only prudent to prepare in case Iran or it’s sponsors find some unlikely means to retaliate. I believe all our military bases and units have a broad expanse of contingency plans for every situation imaginable. The one I grew up and worked on could have a tornado rip through and the power would be back on in minutes!
