Dear community member,

Hate has no place in our communities, and least of all on our school campuses. Every student deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued for who they are.

That commitment is at the heart of United Against Hate Week, taking place October 18-24. Each year, the Santa Cruz County Office of Education joins school districts across our county in recognizing this week and reaffirming our shared responsibility to confront hate, bullying, and bias in all forms.

United Against Hate Week emerged from a United Against Hate poster campaign created by Bay Area Cities in response to white supremacist rallies in Berkeley and San Francisco in 2017.

My husband and I lived in the KSA for five years. My Saudi boss was one of the nicest and most able persons I ever worked for.

We are, as Americans, now allowed to visit the KSA and the Kingdom now allows visitors. I doubt that many folks will ever go there...but it IS worth a visit, DURING October - April. It DOES get rather warmish. :o)
