A major Democratic super PAC also pulled out of the race in the final weeks. Senate Majority PAC, which is aligned with Democratic leadership, announced a $42 million investment in the state earlier this year. A group tied to the super PAC spent $29 million before cutting its funds in mid-October.
Saving America’s Future, a pro-Trump group run by former White House aide Taylor Budowich, last week gave $1 million to NC First, a super PAC that has been funding pro-Whatley television ads, according to campaign finance reports. The amount, however, is significantly less than what Republican-leaning groups have already pulled out of the state.
The eroding national air cover has exacerbated money troubles for Whatley, whose campaign has raised $13 million to Cooper’s $47 million. Public polling in the race has shown Cooper leading by margins of between 6 and 14 percentage points in the last two months, in a state that has not elected a Democrat to the Senate since 2008. The average margin of victory in the last four Senate races in North Carolina was less than 3 points.
Cooper’s camp has tried to downplay expectations. When asked by NBC News about his clear lead in public polling, a Cooper adviser pointed to a July post on the website of Public Policy Polling, a Democratic survey research firm, that said “it would be a mistake to count Republicans out.”
“A Democrat has not won statewide federal office here in nearly two decades, and North Carolina is a 50-50 state,” said Kate Smart, communications director for Cooper’s campaign. “We’re working hard to earn every vote and make sure North Carolinians know that Roy Cooper will fight for them, while Michael Whatley will continue to enrich himself at their expense.”

That isn't true. Tillis was in there since 2015.
I don’t get why Cooper is so popular in NC. He is a dyed-in-the-wool leftist communist, which should be Kryptonite to most voters in this southern state.
And as I'm not about to click the link, I'll state the headline is another MSM lie.
NC GOP tend to choose lousy candidates.
Don’t blame me. I voted for Whatley 2 days ago.
Vote Repubican anyway.
Vote Repubican anyway.
Bellow 40 Nartional Rarly Vote is now 11 percent.
You’re absolutely right. Roy Cooper was an awful governor. He will be an awful senator. He does give the appearance of not being a reasonable local though and unfortunately, many here have been taken in by that. His record as Governor is not as bad as it otherwise would be because the Republicans held a large majority in the state House and Senate and the last couple years they even got a supermajority and stuffed a bunch of his vetoes down his throat.
After eight days of early voting in North Carolina, Democrats have now crossed more than half a million early votes. Republicans continue to make small percentage gains day over day. #ncpol

NC is suffering what happened to VA. The liberals have infiltrated further and further south. They leave the disasters they created up north for the safer states down south, get here, and recreate the disasters they created up there. GA was conservative until the liberals fell into Atlanta and took over and infiltrated their communist mob down here in the Deep South. They are now in the bigger cities in the South like Nashville, Birmingham, Montgomery, Mobile, Jackson, MS, and New Orleans. NC is suffering the liberal, commie infiltration.
So he gets to run as a "Moderate" even though it is technically not true.
“ I don’t get why Cooper is so popular in NC. He is a dyed-in-the-wool leftist communist, which should be Kryptonite to most voters in this southern state.”
I don’t know North Carolina. My cousin and her husband, liberals who worked to help the liberal politicians in Colorado, asked me how to deal with the ‘dumb local North Carolinians” who don’t like them just for moving to their state from a different state
Liberals are so clueless. You paint the picture and nothing. No idea
They’re nothing wrong with invading the country unless it’s from a republican
In my opinion, NC is a bellwether race. If the Dems flip this senate seat, we lose the senate. You can bank on it.
NC and VA seem to be the States where the Black vote is coming out in Mass. it is down everywhere else.
Sad that they believe NC will fall to the demoncRATS.
Voter fraud is rampant in NC and VA. VA is worse with Democrats pulling ahead late into the night. There is no reason for Richmond, Nova and Norfolk to be late with reporting.
I voted in an urban precinct in Winston-Salem and there was no one in line but they reported 89% participation.
My fear is that we lose both houses of Congress. It is razor-close. I fear for the Republic. France and the UK, here we come.
Yes, never give up!
