MADISON, WI — Hundreds of people gathered Saturday for another "No Kings" rally in Madison.
Protesters began at James Madison Park and marched peacefully to the Wisconsin State Capitol. The rally was one of thousands held nationwide to promote early voting and encourage people to head to the polls.
Previous "No Kings" demonstrations largely focused on protesting Trump administration policies. This time, participants said the event was about bringing people together, regardless of ideological differences.
“I think it’s really important that people come together. I’m OK with different opinions,” said Charlie Berthoud, a protester and local pastor.
Madison’s "No Kings" march was one of many held across the country Saturday. More coverage will examine other rallies and whether they carried the same message.

Some protest. *SMIRK*
Early Voting?
Oh you mean go on Somalia time.
Get a head start.
So they actually have nothing to protest.
This no kings thing is about the stupidest thing I have ever heard of.
Yep.
L
early, and often...
They are probably pushing early voting because there’s so much crap coming out every day about the craziness of the dems that they want to lock that vote down so no one can change their mind.
Chanting, “Vote early! We’re old and might die before November!”
If America actually had a king, these idiotic protests wouldn’t be allowed at all.
Both so comical and so sad.
driving through NYS VT and NH yesterday and saw three protests. Most are elderly with white hair and it seems to be a social time for them. The younger participants mostly looked ... odd.
Lots of smiles, nasty signs.
I noticed that many dems are pushing voters to vote early. I wonder if they’re thinking we might be on the verge of getting good news on something, and they want the votes to be cast before that good news can swing the voters to the right.
It’s looking like a lock in Wisconsin. We should be getting a Republican Governor and we can easily hold our House, but our Assembly (Senate) has two critical (R) seats that night flip - but I don’t think so.
It’s looking good in Wisconsin these days. On, Wisconsin!
Usually Socialist Democrats go down swinging - not sure what’s up with these kinder, gentler ‘protests.’
But, there’s still plenty of time before November 3rd for them to raise hell in, ‘The People’s Republic of Madistan.’
Also - they’re broke! I got an URGENT text from Governor Evers (D) just yesterday, BEGGING me to send money to the D candidate for Governor. *SMIRK* I love it. ;)
Who, specifically, are the individuals who are “Kings”? There is a vague presumption that these “Kings” are some representation of Donald Trump and his legion of followers, but there seems to be a very serious deployment of projection on the part of the alleged protestors. THEY are the ones who seem to believe they have an uncontestable privilege to defame, excoriate and lay blame on those with whom they disagree, while they see themselves as blameless and somehow pure in their motives.
The issue is never the issue.
