JUST FOR TODAY
As I go through some "troubles" in my own life, I've worked out this "formula" to help me be a useful and happy person. See if it doesn't work for you! JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to live through this day only, and not tackle my whole life problem at once. JUST FOR TODAY: I will be happy. I will assume to be true what Abraham Lincoln said: "Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be". JUST FOR TODAY: I will try to strengthen my mind. I will study. I will learn something useful. I will read something that requires effort, thought, and concentration. JUST FOR TODAY: I will adjust myself to what is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. JUST FOR TODAY: I will exercise my soul in three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out. I will do at least two things I don't want to do just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it. JUST FOR TODAY: I will be agreeable. I will look as well as I can, dress becomingly, talk low, act courteously, criticize not one bit, not find fault with anything, and not try to improve or regulate anybody but myself. JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a program. I may not follow it exactly, but I will have lt. I will save myself from two pests: hurry and indecision. JUST FOR TODAY: I will have a quiet half hour all by myself. During this half hour, I will try and get a better perspective of my life. JUST FOR TODAY: I will be unafraid. Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give back to me. CAPT Benny Hornsby, CHC, USN (Ret)

Dear God: I ask that no Airman, Coast Guardsman, Marine, Sailor, Soldier, Reservist, National Guardsman, or Merchant Marine feel alone or forgotten.
O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is loving kindness, And with Him is abundant redemption. And He will redeem Israel From all his iniquities.

Howdy, Kathy.
Hope you kicked back with a good book for a while today. The day started out kinda dismal and damp, making it a good day for it.
Chilly and very windy here. Miserable this morning but things improved a little this afternoon.

Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Any break in the heat yet? We’ve had bright sun, but mostly dribbles all day. Everything is wet again.

Today, we were begging for some heat. LOL I went to a car show around the corner from the farm and though the temperature was 55 at the time, the wind cut through clothing like a knife. It was worse this morning when the car show started.
The wind is dying down now, thank goodness, and tomorrow will be a little warmer. I’m ready for Monday when our temps become comfy for the rest of the week.
It looked fairly nice up there this afternoon after a dreary start. Clouds appear to be moving back in now. That’ll help keep the temp from bottoming out.
Clear skies here and we’re supposed to drop into the 30s overnight. BRRRRR

Naps always help. :-)
A break from the heat is ok but a little more gradual would be much nicer. Going from highs in the low 90s to highs close to 60 practically overnight is a bit drastic. The 70s we look forward to next week are much preferred.

Extra prayers for Israel...

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.
