Brown, Acton both up 6 points in Ohio races: Poll
The Hill ^ | October 16, 2026 | Ford McCracken

Posted on 10/16/2026 3:00:12 PM PDT by MinorityRepublican

A new poll of the Ohio Senate and gubernatorial races shows Democrats ahead in both contests.

In the Senate race, a Bowling Green State University (BGSU) poll found former Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) ahead of Sen. Jon Husted (R) by 6 points, 48 percent to 42 percent, among likely voters. When BGSU surveyed the race in September, Brown had just a 3-point lead.

Ohio voters were evenly split 48 percent to 48 percent on who they think will win, regardless of whom they support. That is narrower than September, when more thought Husted would win.

In the governor’s race, Democrat Amy Acton leads Republican Vivek Ramaswamy also by 6 points, 50 percent to 44 percent. In BGSU’s September poll, Acton had a 3-point lead. Most still said they think Ramaswamy is likely to win in the end, 55 percent to 43 percent, though that is a closer margin than in BGSU’s September poll.

Ohio was long considered a battleground state but has moved toward Republicans in the last decade, starting with President Trump’s win in 2016. Former Vice President Kamala Harris lost Ohio by 11 points in 2024, and Brown lost his Senate seat that year by 3.5 points.

BGSU) poll. I think this poll is crap but 6 points is a lot of tilt. I think it probably means the races are tied. Not good.

Are the youth sitting it out -? The ones who voted for Trump 3 times out of the 3 times they were eligible to vote?

Vivek is heading for a defeat.
AN Indian Anchor baby who trashed American workers
and loved Indian H 1 Visas invader job stealers does not work in Ohio.

Here is what the Indian Anchor baby said :

• Cultural Mediocrity: Ramaswamy argued that American culture has “venerated mediocrity over excellence” since the 1990s, prioritizing social status, sports, and pop culture over academic and STEM achievement.
• 90s Sitcoms Analogy: He claimed that a culture celebrating characters like the jock or average student over “nerds” (comparing figures like Zach/Slater to Screech in Saved by the Bell, or Stefan to Steve Urkel in Family Matters) fails to produce top engineering talent.
• H-1B Visa Stance: He aligned himself with tech leaders like Elon Musk, arguing that tech firms turn to H-1B visas out of necessity due to a deficit in domestic engineering culture, while simultaneously calling the current lottery-based visa system a form of “indentured servitude” that he proposed replacing with a merit-based model.

Thanks, Trump, for another Disastrous choice.

He may flip all of Ohio midterm candidates to Blue .

Ohioans love their beloved illegal alien “neigbors”. Criminals seem to like to hang together.

I mean Vivek is 💯 right about this. Look around you. It's clear that our culture has stagnated the past couple of decades. We need to be honest with ourselves.

But yeah, he shouldn't have said that if he was planning on running for Governor.

But on this issue, he's right. 🤷‍♂️

There’s no topline, no internals, no methodology proof. This is a propaganda poll.

I support Vivek. At least with Ramaswamy I have a chance for a future. Acton will sell us all down the river. Not voting or voting for a Dem means you accept a lower standard of living. Enjoy the decline.
Something is rotten in Ohio. Amy Acton is not up to governorship. She does not allow video of her because she’s worse than Harris and Cortez together. She quit her job right in the middle of If the pandemic because she did not like being criticized even with Mike Deweenie on her side. If Dems were serious about this office why didn’t they run Tim Ryan the golden boy? She ran unopposed. Very rotten

This Ohioan has no idea what you’re talking about. Also, Trump won our state all three times.
