Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!

Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Good evening, radu, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Hope you aren’t roasting.
Howdy, Kathy.
Not roasting today. Had rain this morning and it was cloudy all day, though the sun tried to peek out this afternoon. Temps will be nice the next week.
Par for the course, I see you have clouds this weekend. Again. And it looks like some showers are trying to move in.
This is a “must watch” video!! It’s incredible that our USMC military heroes did this during the Korean War.
Chinese Soldiers at Chosin Couldn’t Believe the Marines Came Over the Mountains at Night

Dec 1950. Eight thousand Marines were trapped at Yudam-ni, and the only road out ran through Toktong Pass, held open by one rifle company on one hill: Fox Company, 7th Marines, under Captain William Barber. To reach them, Lieutenant Colonel Raymond Davis took his battalion off the road and across three frozen ridges at night, at sixteen below zero, straight through ground the Chinese held.
This is the story of Fox Hill and the Ridgerunners of Toktong Pass, told from the official record, the Medal of Honor citations, and the Chinese armies’ own captured reports.
This is a “must read” comment below the video above.

“My Dad was there in 50/51 as a USMC Grunt, then in 58 as an Advisor. He joined the Marines at 16 in 46, retired in 66 as a Gunnery Sergeant. He was an Orphan in South Bend Indiana, and knew he had a younger brother in the Orphanage but could not remember his name. He was very young when an inventor adopted him, O. Stelzer in South Bend, Indiana, and never was able to find out anything about his little brother.
Then in 1964 Dad received a phone call from a man named Tom Say, who said he was Dad’s little brother, and was a truck driver, coming through our city in the near future. So Dad invited Tom to stop nearby and he would bring him home for dinner to meet his family. I remember eating hamburgers on a beach towel in the living room while they talked. Uncle Tom noticed the Marine Corps decorations and said he was in the USMC too, and as they talked it became apparent they were both in Korea at the same time. Tom was a Tanker, and he lost a lung in a Tank attack, and he named the place and the battle. My Dad’s face turned white, and Tom asked him what’s wrong. Dad had tears in his eyes as he told Tom “I pulled a Marine out of a burning Tank there, and named the Month and year, the winter of 1950; it happened, at the same battle. Further details came forth from both of them as we all realized Dad had saved his little brother’s life without even knowing Tom was his little brother. Tom got a Medical Discharge, my Dad stayed in till 1966, suffering the effects of frostbite the rest of his life until he passed in 1997.
My older brother and I marveled at all of that, and how it took over ten years for them to find each other and discover that, but now they had a bond that couldn’t be broken. My Dad then relished the scars he got while pulling Uncle Tom out of that burning Tank.
I was grateful that God was so gracious to both of them, that in the middle of all that hell they both received such a great blessing.
My Dad; Retired Gunnery Sgt Donald A. Stelzer, 1930-1997
My Uncle Thomas Say, USMC 1950”
Good evening, ML...((HUGS))...and a Blessed Lord’s Day and Shavua Tov to you and yours.
Any better weather for you and Blue?
My dad WWII, China, Korea, and Vietnam, never said a word about Korea.
RAIN? You had rain? Enough to help a little?

a peaceful and prosperous week.

Prayers for our troops, veterans, families, allies, friends, and Canteeners

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.
May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.
May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

G-d bless and keep your children safe, Alouette.

God Bless our military men and women who have given their all.
Thanks, unique.

Keep the Lord’s Day in the Lord’s way.
A blessed Nineteenth Sunday after Pentecost (Western)/Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost (Orthodox) to all!
Good evening, luvie, and a Blessed Lord’s Day to you and yours.
Thank you for the hymns.
Has your summer heat broken yet?
Welcome Troops, Veterans, Families, and Allies!
God Bless You and Keep You Safe.

Hi, Kathy! You’re very welcome. I hope you have a blessed Sunday, too! (((hugs)))
Yes, it hasn’t been hot for the past couple of days. A few more nice fallish days then it’ll warm back up into the low-to-medium 80s.
How is it there? Are you getting snow yet? How are the duckies?
Had a little this morning. It started just as I was going to bed. Hard for a few minutes, then gentle for a while. I ended up with .8 of an inch. Definitely not a drought-buster. LOL But we take what we can get when we get it.
