Police are asking the public for help in identifying a woman they say intentionally ran over and killed a puppy with her vehicle in Orange County.
The Santa Ana Police Department’s Animal Services team responded to the 900 block of West Park Lane on Sept. 8 after receiving a report of a deceased black-and-white male pit bull mix that appeared to have been run over.
“A nearby resident reported seeing a minivan parked near the location and believed the female driver intentionally ran over the puppy,” police said.

I am woman, hear me roar, in numbers too big to ignore.

It was a black an white pitbull. She was saving children from being mauled
The animal driving the mini van could have given the dog to a shelter rather then crushing it to death..........
California driver no surprise they don’t see more then ten feet ahead of their driving path.
You’ve obviously never had one. I’ve had two, one about 75 pounds and one about 95. Both were friendly and excellent protection dogs. The second, who died about 4 weeks ago was a superb dog for both protection and companionship.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your pup.
Let’s get real. If this is Breaking News, then let’s refresh the entire sidebar.
Rude.
Mine saved my neighbor from losing her hand a min pin mix (without hurting the other dog, by the way) and there was another in the news recently which saved the kids in their home from an intruder after mom had been bludgeoned.
All dogs are emotional creatures, and their experiences reflect in their behavior. Like abused kids acting out badly for attention, dogs of all breeds are capable of doing the same. Pits are highly bred on the black market (causing city shelters to overflow) and often singled out due to being owned at one point by Human trash like dog fighters and gang bangers, treated poorly and taught to fight or fear (when all animals are most likely to attack). I know mine had been baited and used for breeding, but I’m, “the mama” so to speak, and she’s my cuddly brown shadow. She’s never even growled at a person, and she’s been in our home for ten years.
Within the margin of error (+/- 3%), german shepherds and rottweilers are just as likely to bite someone, but this is nary mentioned because they’re not as stigmatized as a breed anymore - they were in the 90’s (I specifically remember the news singling out rottweilers) and in the 80’s great danes topped the list of dogs most likely to bite a Human. Pits are a lot more common than they were previously, which skews statistics largely.
Way to be an independent thinker.
I’ve had 2 pits and a Dane, all wonderful, irreplaceable dogs.
RAN OVER A PUPPY!!?!
That’s worse than strangling your kids!
He had an undetected, massive cancer that caused a sudden, massive heart attack. Will be getting a 5 year old Lab rescue soon.
If an animal runs in front of me, I will hit it over endangering any human.
but in this case the woman lured the dog with food and ran over it on purpose.
a big difference reading the article makes
Moslim???
Is there a pic of her?

BREAKING UPDATE: Santa Ana PD says they’ve arrested the suspect caught on camera purposely running over a puppy after baiting it with dog food, killing it. Her name is Hahn Nguyen, and PD says they caught her after getting a hit on an automatic license plate reader.
Todd Spitzer, the District Attorney for Orange County, is really good about going after people in animal cruelty cases. He won’t settle for a fine and probation.
I know people get attached to their fur babies, again I sympathetize
This is California. She better have energy efficient tires on that minivan, or she’s going to be in BIG trouble.
