A University of Georgia student survived a plunge from her eighth-floor apartment, authorities said Monday, after she had been “dancing on a couch near a window” and fell out.
The terrifying fall from the Rambler Athens Apartments at 558 W. Broad St. in Athens happened at about 7:30 p.m. Saturday, according to police records.
The “student was dancing on a couch near a window that was open” and “fell from the 8th floor window and landed on the pool deck below,” the Athens-Clarke County Police Department said in a statement to NBC News.

Same here. My first semester in college my BA Level was higher than my GPA.
That’s a tough way to start Fall Semester.
She didn’t survive the fall. She survived the sudden stop. That’s about 80 feet. God had plans for her.
No photos. She could have had mucho extra padding.

You are correct, she did not have the padding (5' 7" and 115 lbs), she landed on padding. I am sure there were injuries.

It was six story high. It should have killed her but she survived. About 60 feet.

She hit at about 42 mph. It should have killed her via massive head trauma plus broken bones. That bench saved her life.
I don’t remember mine, but I’m told I had fun.
The girl was a senior and had what appeared to be blond hair with light brown roots.
Must be a board meeting.
