Trump and Musk Super Pacs boost spending on midterm elections

The fundraising groups of Donald Trump and Elon Musk have boosted spending on US House and Senate races by millions of dollars less than two months before election day.

Maga Inc, the pro-Trump Super Pac, spent $10mn on ads benefiting Texas Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton against Democrat James Talarico, while Musk’s America Pac dropped $3.7mn this week to boost Republicans across the country.

Maga Inc’s first significant expenditure this year comes as Republicans have questioned for months whether the Super Pac will spend its $400mn war chest or save it for future elections or Trump’s own interests.

This week, John Thune, the party’s leader in the Senate, and other Republicans called for Maga Inc to spend its cash to help protect the party’s control of Congress. Thune said on Fox that some funds should be spent in Texas, an expensive ad market where Trump chose the scandal-ridden Paxton over incumbent John Cornyn.

Musk’s intervention comes just 14 months after the SpaceX and Tesla boss threatened to establish a third party to take on Republicans following a public falling out with Trump over a massive tax and spending bill.

I kinda figured that Trump wasn’t stealing the money - like a Democrat.

I daresay this help from right-leaning billionaires will get a slightly different reaction from the MSM-Democrats than does spending from Soros, Steve Jobs’ wife, the Tides Foundation, etc.

Guess this means we don’t have to. I gave to 4 senate candidates. The rest of them are on their own.

Because of early voting, the time to spend is now.

Trump should take the 400mm and not run. Lol!

It’s his money after all.

To Musk's credit, his brain accurately sized up plausible options and was given priority over personal hurt and ego.

Trump figured out the same thing about 26 years ago. It is easier (though not immediate, nor easy) to take over a major party than to build one up from nothing but your own perosnal resources. (Which means more than just money)

I don’t know how anyone who is in their right mind would vote for Talarico. He is a complete loon.

They need to help out retired general and combat veteran (silver star) Bert Mizusawa down here in Virginia running against lying scumbag Mark Warner for Senate.

It is also the only way to achieve a majority, in your lifetime.

We’ll never know what was thinking at the time. As I recall, he broke away from his DOGE efforts after Charlie Kirk was murdered.

He felt a little distance from Trump would call the dogs off, perhaps. That’s my opinion only.

I have a dislike for PACs.

Loosely defined as a bunch of people who throw money to ensure their vote counts, your’s be damned.
