(Aug. 26, 2026 / JNS) Police in London on Monday said they were looking for a man who was seen in northern London this month wearing a shirt with an English-language transliteration of the Arabic-language slogan “Khaybar Khaybar yaa Yahud.” Officers received a report that a man had been seen in a supermarket in Williamson Road, Haringey wearing a T-shirt with “an alleged antisemitic wording on,” the Metropolitan Police told the Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA), a British watchdog group that followed up on complaints, it said in a statement on Monday.

The slogan is the beginning of a jihadist battle cry that states: “Jews, remember the Battle of Khaybar, the army of Mohammad is returning.” It refers to the massacre and expulsion of Jews of Khaybar in modern-day Saudi Arabia in 628 C.E. The shirt also featured a sketch of Jerusalem’s Al-Aqsa mosque.

I don’t doubt it, but I do doubt he’ll suffer any consequences.

This is a thought crime. Allowing someone to be prosecuted for this opens the door to criminalizing people wearing anti-immigration slogans on their t-shirt. You’re either against thought crimes or not, you can’t enforce this sort of thing selectively and pretend to be principled.

Yeah, I honestly don’t think this will go how it’s being presented. I imagine at most he will be informed someone complained to which he will respond, “So what?” Then the informing officer will apologize for wasting his valuable time.
