A Black and reportedly autistic man touted as the youngest scholar of color to serve as a chair at the University of Cambridge was accused of plagiarism before authorities say he took his own life last week. If that were the only headline following professor Jason Arday’s death at age 41, then it would be tragic enough.
However, the feeding frenzy that followed the plagiarism allegations, the way Arday was hounded relentlessly online and in print regarding his credentials and biography, and the way his story became an opportunity for the left and right alike to promote their own beliefs are headlines that implicate our larger society. Now all that’s left is Arday’s broken family, his grieving friends and supporters and the smug satisfaction of some of his critics — including those who don’t respect any scholarship produced by Black people and who believe they’re righteous for having exposed Arday to public ridicule.

His entire story was a fraud, wasn’t it?
The only moral responsibility to be had for this ridiculous event, outside of Arday himself, were a few woke fools at Cambridge who enabled and encouraged the fraud.
the MSM should not lecture the world that anyone else has any responsibility in this.
I don’t think he did.
That picture expains a lot
What the heck is this rubbish?
Do ridiculous things, get exposed to ridicule.
Are plagiarism and confabulating one's CV the latest in "Black Values"?
Why did you capitalize “black”?
Cambridge allowed themselves to be defrauded. They knowingly put that turtle on that post as did at least one other university before them. Ms Now and the Arday-apologists are covering up for that fact by blowing smoke.
Oh, now he was autistic. Are all autistic people liars?
It wasn’t just plagiarism - his salary was theft, and he denied another person the job he took. That’s before you get into what his students lost compared to what they’d learn from non-token professor.
Her “hair” is as fake as the dude’s CV ...
What about the kids who were defrauded by all the classes they took from him? All that “teaching” is now in question. And they might have perpetuated those false thoughts to others as well.
The story here is that thanks to racist DEI, Cambridge promoted a plagiarist. They did so despite his plagiarism being quite obvious for a while but people did not want to expose it because he was Black.
Now that he got exposed and offed himself as a result of his public disgrace, Leftists are trying to act as though he were some kind of martyr.
Yes!
He absolutely did not. And rather than own up, he took the cowardly way out and left his young children fatherless
The administrators at Cambridge were in on the scam. They only hired him because of his skin color, using him and not caring about the consequences when he would get caught. Now they're trying to blame others in order to dispel their own guilt.
His blood is on their hands, and trying to wipe it off on others doesn't change that.
