Where sex is concerned, human reproductive biology is pretty standard: Humans are sexually bipolar, with two sexes, male and female. This is determined genetically at conception; barring a few rare and usually debilitating genetic disorders, an XX chromosome pair results in a female, and an XY pair, a male.
That's just how it is. These are facts. And another fact is that the XY pairing gives the resulting child and, in time, adult, a significant advantage in sports. Now, the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA) doesn't seem to understand that, especially with regards to "trans-women" - men - playing in their league.
Now, no less than Caitlyn Jenner, the former Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner, has sounded off on just that genetic reality as the solution to the WNBA's confusion.
Caitlyn Jenner reacted to how the WNBA has navigated its latest controversy over whether transgender athletes would be eligible to play in the league.
The WNBA has lacked clarity on whether a transgender athlete would be able to play in the league. In the midst of it all, former NBA players Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White each launched bids to get into the WNBA.
Jenner appeared on "Fox News @ Night" with Trace Gallagher and said there was a "simple" conclusion to the ordeal.
"They’re showing the hypocrisy of what’s going on out there in the WNBA," Jenner said of Kanter and White. "The WNBA had their meetings on this issue and Cathy (Engelbert), the head, says, ‘We talked about the trans issue but we just haven’t come up with a conclusion at this point. We will continue the conversation.’ Cathy, XX, you’re in. XY you’re out. It’s that simple."
That makes an inordinate amount of good sense, which probably means that the WNBA will ignore it.

Bruce is largely responsible for all this, it started with him.
Yep. He was a pioneer and icon of the trans movement.
Yes, say what you want about him, but Jenner indulges in his own personal fantasies without IMPOSING IT in others. He has never insisted or goes in a crusade forcing biological men on women’s sports.
I’ve never been able to think of Jenner as anything but a transvestite - and that certainly didn’t start with him.
(As for the issue of fake women in women’s sports, as I recall he has always spoken out against it.)
Here’s what is apparently causing the WNBA so many headaches:
The WNBA’s collective bargaining agreement’s Article XIII, Section 1(a) states:
“Only players who are women are eligible to play in the WNBA.” But as OutKick/Fox News Digital previously reported, the 409-page agreement never defines “woman” or “women.” The terms “transgender” and “gender identity” don’t appear anywhere in the document.
And that’s a problem... Why? Even if we allow that “transgender women” may claim to be female, their genetics and the abilities that come along with those genetics are an objective argument otherwise.
In much of any person’s everyday life, that doesn’t make much difference, but in sports, well, it makes a big difference, and even a “transgender” former Olympic athlete knows this, by intuition as much as anything else.
I remember thinking that he was pranking us, and would one day announce “Just kidding!”.
It’s a sick business through and through, and he shouldn’t get a pass just because of his celebrity/Olympic background.
I agree. I am unsure how much surgery Bruce has had, but I always think he is a guy in a dress wearing make-up. Just a transvestite. Those people have been around forever and society has never provided special rules for them.
Maybe he really is a lesbian trapped in a man’s body.
The irony is this, now that he has spoken out, Jenner will probably be lambasted as being “transphobic” over this matter, if that hasn’t happened already. Which means he’s phobic against himself.
But that’s not really relevant. Jenner’s assertion here is exactly correct. The WNBA’s rule book never defined “woman” or “women” because there was no need to.
A person with two X chromosomes is a woman. Anyone else is not, no matter what they claim, and any qualifier added to “woman” such as “transgender woman” (a man) disqualifies them from playing in the WNBA.
It ought to be as simple as that.
Mental Illness
Most of them DON’T have the surgeries.
RE: Maybe he really is a lesbian trapped in a man’s body.
Yes, Jenner still says he’s attracted to women ( he’s probably going to punch me in the face for using the wrong pronoun ).
Rush Limbaugh had a term he used for this — a MALE LESBIAN.

WOW!
(Waff out wowd)
Same bs argument they used for gay marriage.
Why not use that argument for every word in the English language, e.g., in the rule above is "are" defined?
The common understanding for general words like that should be attributed to common law, even if not explicitly defined there either.
Nope. Christine Jorgensen was the first I know of.
And in sports it was Renee Richards in tennis.
Bruce certainly didn't help. though.
His politics I mostly agree with, nevertheless I am disappointed in his transition from Wheaties to Froot Loops.
Bingo.
Goes back to Bill Clinton saying it depends on the what the meaning of “is” is.
That’s BS and everyone knows it.
The WNBA specifically says that only women can play in the WNBA. That’s clear as day. No one needs to define “woman” here. We all speak English. We know what the rule means.
