After two YEARS of steady loss, Ukraine apparently was gaining ground again. It was the "turn of the tide."

Once the Ghost of Kiev turns out to be more ghost and less real, these stories tend to just "fade away." Like the awesome glorious Ukrainian counter offensive.
Just in case you missed it:
In May Ukraine ended up LOSING 240 square Km.
In June they lost 261 square Km.
And in July (((728))) square km.
But it gets better. Russia is about to mobilize 500,000 people for service, North Korea has offered 30,000 men and unlike Ukraine, they can actually pull that off and Ukraine is out of steam.

I have a suspicious feeling, like I had before, that by end of 2026, all of the sudden, we'll have a peace deal. Only of course because of Zelenskyy's concern for Ukraine and the awesome intellect of Western leaders in France and the UK of course... LOL

Russia is going to lose this war and Putin will not survive losing it.
In 1905, they lost to Japan, with their entire navy destroyed in a single battle. In WWI, they ran out of wire to transmit messages, so they had to use wireless. But they were too lazy to bring competent cryptographers, so they transmitted wireless in the clear using basic ciphers - allowing the Germans to intercept and easily decode them. In WWII they routinely sent divisions into battle with only 25% of the ammo they needed, causing them to run out and be annihilated. They won Stalingrad, and lost twice as many men as the Germans.
Pootin started this war with 3 clear goals:
- capture all of Ukraine;
- show how powerful the Russian military is;
- show what a great Commander he is.
Fortunately for the World, he’s failed spectacularly in all three areas. That’s why we’re headed for Month 55, with no Russian Victory in sight.

The people of Russia do not dislike Putin.
The Yeltsin era were no fun times for the Russians:
A horrible economy, high crime and corruption, economic malaise, no respect, a broken military, mocked and made fun of at every turn in the West (which they tried to get near/approach).
We did a great job at humiliating Russia at every chance we had and we did kick them around (no respect and treated them second class).
Putin is seen no different in their eyes, as a Reagan was in the US, post Vietnam, building back the US military, American pride and nationalism, drawing a big fat red line on Soviet expansion, but also with Libya, Iran, Panama, etc.
The Russians largely like the guy and he doesn’t need to fake or fudge elections because the people genuinely back him (you have NUMEROUS WESTERN polling agencies report on that).
In a way, Putin has us to thank for his popularity! He’s the reverb for how poorly we handled the post Soviet era.

There has to be a reference point somewhere. There is no military more competent than Russian because they won more than everyone else in history. Coming from those who have been mostly losing, this criticism is quite laughable.
