I thought an actual pigeon typed it, but usually he works for the Guardian.
We’ve seen the BBC Nigerian pidgin publication many times.
What I liked about the President’s speech was its entire focus on the sacrifices and accomplishments of others in our history.
Trump’s style often involves pointing to his own accomplishments, but this was a very humble speech entirely appropriate to the occasion.
That was very difficult to read. Thanks.
Do they have one in Ebonics?..................
Why would they? They don’t speak ‘Ebonics’ in West Africa.
They do in West Philly! Gotta cover all the bases!...........
BBC News Pidgin wasn’t created for Philadelphia. But it serves a very useful purpose in the country it serves.
Well maybe they ought to! West Philly could use some ‘culture’!...... 😉
Despite its failings, the attempt to standardize Pidgin English by the BBC has been a valuable effort. There are over 500 languages in Nigeria, and many people there are poorly educated or not educated at all. Pidgin allows them to communicate, share information, and facilitates commerce.
I think it’s something to understand, not to make fun of.
Thanks. but it’s more tedious than amusing to me.
After struggling through the tundra for one, maybe two sentences, Im about done with it.
