ON PRAYER

The Sacred Scriptures urge us to pray always. That seems impossible at first sight; you can't spend your life on your knees. But people pray in many ways. Physical positions and movements, the lotus position for Buddhists, kneeling and folding hands for many Christian faith groups are prayer. Any attention paid to God is prayer.

Whether or not any words are spoken, the actions themselves express awareness of, and communication with, God. As St. Teresa of Avila put it, way back in the 16th century, "For though we are always in the presence of God, it seems to me that those who practice prayer are especially so, because they can see all the time that God is looking at them; whereas others may be in the Lord's presence for several days without ever remembering that God can see them".

He Who blessed our forefathers Abraham, Isaac and Jacob - may He bless the fighters of the Israel Defense Force, who stand guard over our land and the cities of our G-d from the border of the Lebanon to the desert of Egypt, and from the Great Sea unto the approach of the Aravah, on the land, in the air, and on the sea.

May HASHEM cause the enemies who rise up against us to be struck down before them. May the Holy One, Blessed is He, preserve and rescue our fighting men from every trouble and distress and from every plague and illness, and may He send blessing and success in their every endeavor.

May He lead our enemies under their sway and may He grant them salvation and crown them with victory. And may there be fulfilled for them the verse: For it is Hashem, your G-d, Who goes with you to battle your enemies for you to save you.

Not the prettiest day up there. Still looks gloomy over your way but the sun’s peeking out over the airports at the moment.
The mountains disappeared for a little while and I hope that means you got some rain.

Sun is popping in and out, and we got enough rain for some puddles. Pretty much all dried up now.

Still have 7 babies...completely unafraid. They run to the deck when I open the door.

Still toasty but the oven gets set on ‘broil’ Monday, through the week.

They said we’d get rain tonight but nope. It was supposed to be here now but it’s well to the north.

Yep. It’s typical summer heat now but it’s going to be dangerous the coming week. Very humid which will have the heat index way up.

You got more rain than they did at the airports. The pavement barely got damp. Glad you got something decent. And glad it didn’t rain much at Lake Hood because today was their annual fly-by event. It’s been pretty much rained out the last two years but today went well. Good turnout and lots of cool planes putting on their shows.

Great that Momma’s doing a good job with her babies. Hasn’t lost one yet. Those young ‘uns will be eating out of your hand once they’re able to get up on the deck. LOL
