California Democrats have gone full crazy. Never go full crazy. Most residents of the state are Democrats because sane people have fled to red states, or are trying to figure out how they can flee and how soon. It’s often said California leads the nation in bold, new trends, and they’re certainly ahead in Democrat lunacy.
Assembly Bill 1967 is moving through the California Legislature. It would allow children of any age to initiate state dependency proceedings against their own parents. Divorce their parents.

Once the county takes custody of the child, it is almost certain that he will be removed from the parent-directed residential facility. Detained children must be placed in an AFDC-FC-eligible nonprofit facility, foster care home, or institution. This requirement creates a direct financial incentive for nonprofits and their affiliated attorneys to facilitate the child’s transfer into county-approved placements.
Each nonprofit can receive up to $17,616 per month in state and federal funding for a short-term residential therapeutic placement.

Hey, this is a nice mechanism to extract child sex slaves from their parental protectors for use as toys by the political overlord class. It makes the extreme depravity of what they’re doing seem almost normal and good.
It’s a scheme to collect more from the parents. The $17K per month price tag has to come from somewhere; they can set a percentage of monthly income to be collected from the ex-parents to help cover the costs. If they took a child from poor parents, no deduction. If they took a chid from a billionaire, it’s time for some income redistribution....
Your parents are your parents always— they cannot stop being your parents. This is just one more step towards the destruction of the family.

My sister-in-law and her husband moved out when their children started to get towards school age. They are living better, and freer, in Oklahoma.
Stuff like this is why Elon Musk has been moving his companies out of California. Smart young engineers will not move to a state where their children can be preyed upon by groomers with the authority and assistance of the state.
This is all the result of one of Elon’s boys being groomed and turned so-called “trans”.

Leftists want to either break those organizations down or make them strictly subservient to the State - that's why "political officers" even for innocuous groups like boy scouts or sports leagues are a thing in leftist societies, which conservatives find bizarre because we take for granted that such institutions should be truly independent. Individuals and families can join and leave such independent groups as they desire.
So this move to encourage children to "divorce" their parents should be understood not as a desire to empower children, but to destroy one of the last remaining institutions that is independent of the all-powerful leftist State. Children will be brainwashed and encouraged to separate from "dissident" parents who don't adhere to Party orthodoxy as taught by the State and institutions it controls. Dependency on government and government teachings will be pushed to maintain a population subservient to the State/Party.

This advice applies to just about any state, but the thing to say to your kids is that if they complain to ANYONE outside of immediate family (obviously including ‘teachers’, but also pediatricians or any other ‘professional’ who has access to them) they will get TWO BRAND NEW PARENTS!!!
...obviously not something that most kids want, and it worked great for us as we were never sure as to whether a white, female, never-married, college-educated, woman might be in charge of our family - something that we’d obviously want to avoid.
