~ Pledge of Allegiance~
Recognized by Congress (1942)

Canteen Mission Statement

Showing support and boosting the morale of
our military and our allies military
and the family members of the above.
Honoring those who have served before.

The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister, a Christian socialist and the cousin of socialist utopian novelist Edward Bellamy (1850-1898). Bellamy's original "Pledge of Allegiance" was published in the September 8th issue of the popular children's magazine The Youth’s Companion as part of the National Public-School Celebration of Columbus Day, a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’ discovery of America, conceived by James B Upham. Bellamy's original Pledge read, "I Pledge Allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."

Required by Pennsylvania State law at the beginning of every county, municipal, and school board meeting.

Howdy, Kathy.

I reckon there wasn’t any deck time today. Not exactly the day for it though the sun tries to peek out occasionally. Having decent luck with it now.

Been pretty much the same thing here.

One should always use the original Bellamy salute when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance

A surprise for sure. d:o)

Bummer he had to work, but he’s there now and that’s what counts. He’s one to be proud of, no doubt.
Hope y’all have a fun evening.

Not much to look forward to this week or for a while, no thanks to this darn broken foot. I’ll find out how bad it is tomorrow.
The furbutts are already driving me nuts, constantly trying to trip me. Lil buttheads.

Go, PA!! Do you think it still really happens. “It’s the law” doesn’t seem to apply to some any more.

It happens in my deep-red County!

Not just in municipal meetings but in “badge organization” meetings as well.
