“The Pledge of Allegiance was written in 1892 by Francis Bellamy (1855-1931), a Baptist minister, a Christian socialist and the cousin of socialist utopian novelist Edward Bellamy (1850-1898)”
So you CAN be a leftist and still love this country - will wonders never cease!
Required by Pennsylvania State law at the beginning of every county, municipal, and school board meeting.

Greetings to all at the Canteen!
To all our military men and women, past and present,
THANK YOU
for your service!

Howdy, Kathy.
I reckon there wasn’t any deck time today. Not exactly the day for it though the sun tries to peek out occasionally. Having decent luck with it now.
Been pretty much the same thing here.

The FR Canteen is Free Republic's longest running daily thread
specifically designed to provide entertainment and moral support for the military.
The doors have been open since Oct 7 2001,
the day of the start of the war in Afghanistan.
We are indebted to you for your sacrifices for our Freedom.

One should always use the original Bellamy salute when reciting the Pledge of Allegiance
Good evening, Pro...ready for the week ahead?
I’m still waiting for rain...
Hi Everybody!
(((HUGS)))
Hiya Kathy, the week ahead looms, just hanging with son-boy tonight and enjoying life, thanks again!
Howdy, PRO.
Did you have a good day? Did your son treat you like a king?
Hope your week goes well, hope the 'lil furbutts don't drive you nutz!

Rev Francis Bellamy
Bellamy's original "Pledge of Allegiance" was published in the September 8th issue
of the popular children's magazine The Youth’s Companion as part of the National Public-School
Celebration of Columbus Day, a celebration of the 400th anniversary of Christopher Columbus’
discovery of America, conceived by James B Upham.
Bellamy's original Pledge read, "I Pledge Allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible with liberty and justice for all."
A surprise for sure. d:o)

Bummer he had to work, but he’s there now and that’s what counts. He’s one to be proud of, no doubt.
Hope y’all have a fun evening.
Not much to look forward to this week or for a while, no thanks to this darn broken foot. I’ll find out how bad it is tomorrow.
The furbutts are already driving me nuts, constantly trying to trip me. Lil buttheads.
Howdy, luvie.
Did the heat melt the tires while y’all were at church? :-)
Go, PA!! Do you think it still really happens. “It’s the law” doesn’t seem to apply to some any more.
Broken foot?! Were you skydiving or something? 😁
It happens in my deep-red County!
Not just in municipal meetings but in “badge organization” meetings as well.
