A schizophrenic woman who viciously stabbed to death a newlywed at a Toronto drugstore was shockingly allowed to walk free over a decade after the senseless rampage.

Bisesar, a financial adviser clad in business attire and standing less than 5 feet tall, took off after the stabbing spree but was captured later by Toronto police.
“While the tragedy cannot be undone and will always be on our minds, Ms. Bisesar no longer is a significant threat to the safety of the public, and the law requires that an absolute discharge must be imposed,” the board wrote in its decision this month. “Ms. Bisesar’s commitment to her present health has substantially contributed to this result. The board acknowledges the effort Ms. Bisesar has put into her recovery and wishes her well in her next chapter.”

A psychiatrist testified Bisesar had untreated schizophrenia and was experiencing a psychotic break when she attacked her victim, the outlet reported. The Ontario Review Board said Bisesar, who has schizophrenia, no longer poses a threat to society after her commitment to treatment. I am satisfied on a balance of probabilities that Rohinie Bisesar suffered from a mental disorder, schizophrenia, when she took this woman’s life,” Justice John McMahon said during the 2018 hearing. “Because of the schizophrenia, she was incapable of knowing the killing was morally and legally wrong.”

I am not aware that schizophrenics can really be cured. She’s probably on meds. And she will probably stop the meds at some point. And then ... look out.

They can’t but some of the more self aware ones can have cognitive changes and even simple maturity that allow them to grow into more self control, and have good personal insight when they feel stressors beginning to overwhelm them. Yet meds are generally going to be needed. Christian schizo’s do better in the main as they have an indwelling presence and reason for wanting to “be and stay better” and it’s not always the devil but simply the wiring that God doesn’t always cure.
Disease processes generally get worse when people age, not better especially mental illness however. They had no business letting this person out in public, as she has murdered in the past and should never be trusted in public. They can give her more institutional freedoms, but she should never be let out.
The Bible mentions taking care of the poor and the lunatik(KJV). Some folks aren’t devil possessed, they are mentally sick or in dementia. Some may well be Devil possessed. Discernment and experience is necessary to parse between them.

The judge informs us that she and she shouldn’t get stabbity if they both take their meds. I’m probably mean for not finding that entirely reassuring.
THIS IS WHY THE DEATH PENALTY SHOULD APPLY TO ALL MURDERERS REGARDLESS OF THEIR SUPPOSED MENTAL CONDITIONS
