One Israeli Strike Could Bring the New Iran Deal Crashing Down

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned Tuesday that a single Israeli strike in Lebanon would constitute a violation of the latest Iran deal and bring the entire thing crashing down.

Israel has signaled in recent days that it will not withdraw troops from its security zones in Lebanon and will continue taking whatever actions it deems necessary to protect its interests, despite pressure from President Trump. The stance comes amid reports that the Trump administration denied Israel's request to review the recently negotiated Iran deal.

NEW: Israel asked the United States to share the contents of the U.S.–Iran memorandum of understanding, but Washington refused the request.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi:

Any military attack by the Zionist regime against Lebanon, and the continuation of the occupation, constitutes a violation of the Memorandum of Understanding.

Without the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories they occupied in in this war, the war will not fully end.

"I would like to emphasize the importance of the two sides of this agreement. One side is the United States and Israel, and the other side is Iran and Hezbollah. The end of the war in Lebanon is an unacceptable separation from the complete end of the war. The end of the war is also included in the end of the occupation. Without the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territories occupied in this war, the end of the war would not have been complete," Araghachi said, according to a translation. "And certainly, any military attack by the Zionist regime on Lebanon from now on and the continuation of the occupation of the territories of Lebanon from now on, in our opinion, is a breach of the agreement."

It remains unclear how Iran would respond to a potential breach, but it would likely complicate efforts to secure a permanent end to the conflict and could undermine the United States' goal of extracting Iran's nuclear material.

This comes as tensions between President Trump and Israeli officials are mounting over Israel’s displeasure with some of the potential requirements of the Iran deal. It remains unclear how Israel plans to move forward, other than the fact that it has stated it will act in the interest of its own security.

Some Trump administration officials are now denying that the latest deal requires Israel to stop defending itself from Hezbollah in Lebanon.

"Fortunately @SecRubio made clear that Iran & Hezbollah aren’t linked in a deal. @Israel doesn’t need Iran permission to defend itself," U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee wrote on X. "The tether of terror must end."

Speculation has clouded the latest deal, as the text of the agreement has yet to be released. President Trump said Tuesday he plans to read the document publicly in an effort to curb misinformation surrounding the deal.

🚨 JUST IN: President Trump announces he's going to hold a press conference and personally READ EVERY WORD of the Iran deal to force the fake news into covering it accurately

GREAT IDEA 👏🏻

"I will actually not only release it. I'll probably have a press conference and read it o you word by word so that the press covers it accurately because it's a very important document!"

"And unlike Obama who could have destroyed the Middle East with a horrible JCPOA. It is the worst agreement!" pic.twitter.com/wSWBpyzMuJ— Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) June 16, 2026

Which is to say, a single strike by Hezbollah could bring the whole thing down.

Which is to say, IRGC can bring the whole thing down ordering a strike by their Lebanese subsidiary, and then lay the blame on Israel.

There’s no such thing as a deal with Iran. Not possible.

If the war ends Bibi’s corruption trial resumes and there is no doubt he has taken lots of bribes, he just calls them “presents.”

Bibi will not allow the war to end. He doesn’t two squirts about Israel. Bibi is all about Bibi.

This isn’t an issue of which media outlets are reliable. These are direct posts by the government of Iran stating that any Israeli attack on Hezbollah, or Israeli refusal to withdraw from Lebanon, is something that Iran considers a violation of the MOU.

Yup...Iran may be giddy about this but they are dead in the water with No Navy, No Airforce and no income....And China is probably getting p*****.

Iran will muzzle its proxy Hezbollah because it needs the cash. But will Hez comply?

Even if it does Iran is not going to tank the deal when Israel responds because it needs the cash.

Trump does not care one way or another as long as the oil starts flowing again and no US troops are injured.

So, this whole epoch in history boils down to will Israel sabotage world peace? Hogwash.

Hezbollah is allowed to attack Israel but Israel has to sit on it’s hands?

Funny, I thought Israel was the most reliable ally the US has and now Bibi is a loose canon?

Something is amiss here. Either this is an incredible Trumpian ruse OR this is the Munich Agreement of 1938, where Israel is the fall guy instead of Czechoslovakia.

and that is Iran’s purpose-to drive a wedge between US and Israel.and delay delay deflect deflect.so far DJT has bought into it. very disappointing especially in Israel where they worshipped him.i am happy to see Bennett say he intends to work with the Iranian people on regime change. I hoped Israel would work on that sub rosa since they have Mossad on the ground.

I have the sickening feeling that Trump may have betrayed America and Western civilization with a capitulation to Islamic monsters who slaughtered tens of thousands of great young people. I was so proud of Trump a few months ago.
