DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (AP) — Iran's top diplomat said Tuesday that the tentative deal to end the war with the United States would require Israel to withdraw from Lebanon — a condition Israel has already rejected and that could sink the agreement, leading to the resumption of all-out war.
The deal, which is between the U.S. and Iran, has not been made public, and officials have sometimes offered contradictory interpretations of what is in it. While Israel is not party to the agreement, it is part of the war: It joined the U.S. in launching strikes on Iran on Feb. 28, and has since fought the Iran-backed Hezbollah militant group in Lebanon and seized large swaths of that country.

In other words, there is no deal.
Iran is led by people who see virtue in lying, cheating, and constantly changing terms. There are only two ways the conflict with Iran ends:
The people rise up and kill those in charge, or
We bomb them to the stone age.
That would be dumb. Why would they include a contractual requirement on an absent third party?
Prety sure they pull back on this one Trump will release any constraints on the military operation.
This feels like the last straw, these camel jockeys seem pretty oblivious to that fact.
If there’s a withdraw then both side will withdraw not just the one getting bombed

That’s the way all business is conducted in that part of the world. It’s standard practice. Now add to that Islamic religious fanaticism.
Good luck with a long-term deal under those conditions.
All the rhetoric about Lebanon is a tell.
Their proxy there cannot be permitted to exist.
But this administration seems hellbent upon ignoring that fact despite the languishing power position...
Relying on Iran's word for something is worse than relying on even the New York Times.
This tells me that Trump has left some things the other party wants on the table which gives him leverage.
Maybe Trump then demands Hezbollah leaves Lebanon???
That won’t happen.
Yeah, Trump and Vance are going to sandbag the Israelis.
Israeli strategic and political objectives regarding the current Iranian regime include demands for doubling US tax dollars and increasing gifts of US weaponry to eradicate threats.
Israel views the Iranian government’s ongoing nuclear advancements and massive ballistic missile capabilities as an “existential danger” to Israel requiring more massive US financial support.
By eliminating the current leadership, Israel seeks to dismantle the regional coalition of hostile forces that encircles it and poses ongoing tactical threats.
Netanyahu is also up for reelection-—and has outlined his goals to get votes by striking the regime’s power centers, missile infrastructure, and media headquarters to create fairy tale conditions where the Iranian people themselves “might” overthrow the government.
Public support for this strategy remains high within Israel, with polls showing a vast majority of the public backing campaigns aimed at permanently degrading the regime’s military capacity which bodes well for Netanyahu’s reelection.
However, perspectives among analysts and within international forums are varied; some view direct state action as a necessary defense mechanism, while others highlight the immense risks associated with instability and power vacuums following a regime collapse that would, of necessity, require massive infusions of US tax dollars to endangered Israel.
Does the deal include an acknowledgement from Iran that Israel is a sovereign state?
Iran being needy/unreasonable? who woulda thought...
And just yesterday, certain people on here were blasting anyone that was not waving Trumps victory as US hating leftists. Then reality enters the room.
Calling Israel a “third party” in this situation is a joke.
All these comments about trust are from folks who never studied contracts. There are two types of performance in a contract. One type is a pay a painter to paint my house and give him money upfront, the other is I pay him after he performs.
Israel has four official “enemy states” designated under its
“Prevention of Infiltration Law:” Iran, Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen.
In addition to these, Israel is currently engaged in globally
criticized multi-front military conflicts in the Gaza Strip.
